Very Gracious Host
This review is only for our host Caroline, who was very kind, even though we were not able to make it to the rental unit. We booked this quite late because we decided use TAP Airlines stopover in Lisbon option and rent a car to drive down to the Algarve. Well, TAP cancelled multiple flights and delayed several others so we never made it out of Lisbon before needing to catch our connecting flight. Caroline was very responsive and even offered to move our entire reservation a few days to the right at no charge if that would allow us to visit. We didn't make it, but the offer was gracious and I would recommend working with her.

Perfect stay
Perfect for our 3 week stay in Alvor. Amazing sea and marina view. Quiet location yet easy walking distance to all the lovely restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend (as long as you are ok with stairs!)

Amazing property and location just one little worry…the bottom stair on both floors should be marked with a dark line so you know it’s the last step…I thought I was making the ground floor from the last step when it was infact the next to last step…the last step blends in with the ground floor…I understand about the basket being there to highlight the problem…overall though couldn’t have been happier with everything

A lovely townhouse in a brilliant location. Literally a few minutes walk from the Main Street and all the gorgeous restaurants/ bars etc ( we didn’t have a bad meal) Also great for the harbour and walks along the boardwalk to the beach (the beach was a bit of a stroll away but lots of sun-beds and places for refreshments if you wanted a ‘beach day’) The house itself was clean and comfortable with everything the two of us needed - champagne flutes/ smaller wine glasses would be welcome! Loved the gorgeous terrace with its sun beds plus table and chairs. Nice memory foam pillows and mattress. Shower was great. I was a bit frightened of the stairs but negotiated them safely! All in all an excellent place for an Alvor holiday. Thank you x

Beautiful Townhouse with the view
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in this beautiful townhouse with the most incredible view of the water and marina. The location was ideal with all the amenities especially restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The townhouse had all the conveniences necessary for a great stay. Clean, modern and exactly has shown on the pictures. Alice the hostess met us at the door when we arrived. She was very helpful and provided some additional information about the townhous and the area. The bed was very comfortable and it had a great shower in the ensuite and a kitchen that has all the modern appliances. We had a great time and felt really save. We will definitely book the same townhouse when we return. Thanks

House with a view
Well equipped property with great view from the terrace. Easy walking distance from the harbour and local restaurants. Everything was spotless, the shower was powerful and roomy and quality towels provided. The stairs are steep and require a little caution. Parking not always possible outside the property but loads of parking down by the harbour a couple of minutes walk away

Alvor Gem
We stayed in this townhouse for 12 nights mid September 2022. The unit was very clean and well appointed: fully stocked kitchen, washer dryer combo, iron, beach umbrellas, and beach towels. There is a small bathroom on the main floor behind the kitchen which is very convenient. The bedroom on the second floor has a king size bed, a wall of storage space, and a small bathroom but large shower. The third floor has a tv and couch with the main attraction being the balcony - small table and chairs, two lounging chairs and an awning. The view from there is spectacular! The marina, the beach, and amazing sunsets! The unit is a 10 min walk to the beach, minutes to restaurants and grocery shops. Our contact Alice was very friendly and always available and responsive when we had questions. Overall an incredible place to stay! The only drawback for some may be the number of stairs as it’s located on 3 levels.

Fantastic property in the heart of Alvor
A great town house in the heart of Alvor with a sun facing balcony terrace. Everything we needed was here for us including a fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and great views over Alvor. Alice made contact in advance and was there to meet us on arrival. Loved our stay, both being in the heart of Alvor and with easy access to the fantastic boardwalk and beach. We were able to park our car close to the property which made transport easy.

Cute little townhouse
This is our 3rd time at casa do burro, and we love it, the view from roof terrace is possibly the best in alvor, and as for the super king size bed, wow so comfortable, and restaurants 2mins walk to nearest, beach a 10min stroll, and Marta the host is most attentive in making sure you have everything you need

an ideal property for a couple as long as you have no mobility issues as the stairs are quite steep ... centrally located and handy for everything in the town and the promenade ... beach five/ten minutes stroll away ... balcony at top is the ideal place to chill and read a book or nine ... property well fitted out and supplied with pretty much all you would/could need even including brollies for use at the beach ... marta was very helpful and quick to respond when required ... would certainly book again if available when we next visit Alvor ... recommended.

Great holiday in Alvor
Really enjoyed our time in Alvor. Marta who met us on day 1 was friendly and helpful. The accommodation is in a great location with fantastic views on the top terrace. It was noisy during the day due to building works happening in the surrounding houses. There are a lot of steps on the property and it was hard for my partner to climb up and down because of his bad knee.

What a view
The owners Helan and Neil were very helpful and met us at the property, the property was well laid out and very clean with everything you could need, the views from the living room terrace over the harbour and the sunset over Lagos is something you never get tired of, the property is perfectly located only a matter of minutes walk from the shops bars and restaurants but just far enough away for you not to be disturbed by any noise, we would have no hesitation on returning to Alvor and this property.

Beautiful town house in traditional fishing village
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was our 2nd time in Alvor and we’ll definitely be back. The house is in a great location if you like to live amongst the locals. And the view from the top balcony is as perfect as all the reviews say. Would highly recommend.

Great town house in Alvor
Nicely renovated property in Alvor, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Fantastic views of Alvor from the terrace and the perfect spot for enjoying the sunset. House has everything needed for a self catering holiday and is located perfectly to balance being in the heart of Alvor with a quiet and relaxing location. Alvor is a lovely town to visit and this property is a great place to stay to enjoy it. Helen and Neil were great in supporting us in advance of our stay and meeting us at the property.

Amazing town house
We had a 2 week stay in August - the high season. Great location with great views and close to the center and the beach. The house is small but for 2 people just fine, clean and well equipped. Helen and Niel - house management, welcomes on arrival and can guide one just about anything. Great panoramic views over the sea and the harbor where there in high season (august) at evenings is a small scene with different performances of music. We quickly became familiar with the three floors and the stairs, always something with ups and downs - a basket could have been beneficial. We will especially look back at the beautiful times on the balcony - breakfast at the start of the day and evening with lights from fishing boats, Lagos and the lighthouse at Ponta da Piedade, quiet and relaxing - wonderful enjoyment . We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely return.

We had a fantastic holiday staying at the townhouse. A fabulous place, so central but quiet .
Our stay here has been a truly wonderful. A stunning house with everything we needed. A panoramic view of the harbor and miles of blue ocean is so beautiful. The deck/patio is amazing and we enjoyed our time and sunsets there. The double bed is a big massive “treat”, it has to be the very best bed in Alvor . It’s a perfect place, and a perfect holiday house. We loved it, and will be back!!

WOW!!
What else can we write that hasn't already been said about this beautiful "home away from home." Except to state that, as retirees, over the past 20 years we have travelled to seven continents and visited more than 80 countries. 26B has impressed us so much , we are booking another five weeks to come back the same time next year. The View!
This is a great house to stay in for the views, however the stairs become tiresome after a while if you want to eat on the top balcony! Very convenient for restaurants and shops.

Lovely townhouse.
We had great 2 week stay.The house is perfectly situated with great views over the harbour,a good big comfy bed.The house is very well eguiped with everything you need. The only complaint we had was the lovely big 55 inch TV didnt'work. We don't go our holidays to watch TV but we like to catch up with the news. We think the WiFi is needing updated.

Lovely little house, perfect position
We had a really wonderful time, everything was so easy to get to, fantastic restaurants within minutes walk. The beach was beautiful and almost empty. The house has everything you could possible need. As other people have commented the local dogs are a bit of a pain with their barking but being on holiday you just turned over and went back to sleep. Would like to book same week next year if possible just need to wait for Jet2 flight days for next year when they are released . Thank you also for organizing the taxi's. Thank you for your kind words. We are sorry about the dogs. You can hear them iall over Alvor. Where we live ourselves in Alvor we have dogs in the neighborhood as well. With the shutters completely down and closed you do not hear them anymore. We would love to be able to welcome you again. Most of our guests are returning. We aim for that and we continually try to improve the house and our services where we see a possibility. Hopefully till next year!

Lovely little house
A well equipped and very comfortable little house with an amazing, and constantly changing, view of the harbour and estuary. It’s in a nice quiet area but still very close to everything I needed. Walking distance to supermarket, beach and loads of restaurants. Definitely a property I would return to.

Thank you for recommending casa do burro. We are glad to hear you found the big bed comfy and the shower/bathroom and the TV/ WIFI good and that you enjoyed the lovely views. I am sorry that you could hear the barking dogs in the village. It is true that there is not much we can do about that. However the whole house has double glass insulated windows and electric shutters in front of these windows. Closing the electric shutters at night should reduce hearing much from what goes on outside. We hope to welcome you again!

Warm, Friendly and Welcoming Alvor!
Our stay was one of our best over 4 weeks in Portugal and Spain. The townhouse provided a spectacular setting in a fishing village that has not yet succumbed to the pressures of over development. It was small, accessible, quant, very scenic with everything you need within easy walking distance. The spiral staircase has to be maneuvered cautiously, but the view from the bedroom and deck is well worth it. Our only nitpicks were having to deep clean the Nespresso milk unit and the neighbourhood dog's barking. We will definitely be back though!! Helen was a wonderful hostess!

Magical view, beautiful home

Perfect house in great location for holiday in Alvor
The one bedroom house is perfect, keeps you fit going up and down the stairs as we spent most of our time on the 3rd floor which is where the terrace is with amazing views and a lovely breeze in the hot weather. The kitchen is on the ground floor, it would be useful to have a fridge on the top floor to keep the wine and beers chilled! Bring a wine cooler with you! We were met by Helen on arrival who was lovely. We have been to Alvor before so know the area well and loved being in the centre of the village. The only downside for us was the noise of local dogs barking during the night, not much the owners can do about this! We would certainly recommend and would stay here again if we return.

"It does exactly what it says on the tin"
No need to go into detail on this lovely, recently renovated little house. The description is "spot-on". So, if you're a couple who like to holiday in a traditional setting alongside the locals this must be be on your short list. It's reassuring to know that you have very professional and competent property managers living nearby if any issue or emergency should arise. (Thankfully we did not have any reason to contact to contact Helen/Neil after they met us at the apt.) Well done to all. We would definitely recommend this house to our friends. Eamon and Ruth

Location couldn't have even better!
Overall we enjoyed our stay, the house was clean, bright and bed was comfortable bed. The licationwas excellent! So close to the Main Street but so quite to sleep. The restaurants are 1/2 a block away and the view was great! I would recommend this house for your stayin Alvor!

A perfect location with a stunning view
This house is just a dream away from home. Its location is perfect, shops, restaurants outside your door. The view of the marina and Atlantic ocean is stunning. The house itself has every modern appliances, the wifi system is available all over the house. We used to look forward every night sitting on the balcony having our bottle of wine watching the local fishing boats returning at night with their catch. We look forward to returning next year. What a magnificent view!
We really liked the walk to the beach through a beautiful wild nature. The small house is great, with a great ♥️ for the terrace with a view of the small port. Good base to visit the west of the Algarve.

Parfait, le logement correspond parfaitement à la description. Parfaitement placé, je recommande.
Idéal pour un séjour en amoureux, à 2 pas du centre mais très calme. Super pour se balader le long de la plage. Ne convient pas aux personnes n’aimant pas les escaliers. Caroline est à la fois très gentille et très discrète, parfait pour nous.

Mooi huisje met heerlijk dakterras en prachtig uitzicht. In het voorseizoen rustig plaatsje met alles op loopafstand: strand, winkels, restaura tjes. In de wijde omgeving meer dan genoeg mooie natuur om te wandelen en tripjes te maken.

hübsches Haus über drei Etagen mit Wohlfühlcharakter und Hammerblick von der Terrasse. Treppen sind steil und schmal, also eher für Menschen, die gut zu Fuß sind. Die Lage ist perfekt, mittendrin und doch relativ leise. Ich komme gerne wieder, Cindy

Besser geht nicht!
Wir waren zum ersten Mal in Carolines Wohnung und waren total begeistert! Die Wohnung hat eine ruhige, zentrale Lage und bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick von der Terrasse aus über den Hafen von Alvor bis hin zum Meer und zur Nachbarstadt Lagos. Die drei Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll und absolut sauber eingerichtet und man hat das Gefühl von "Luxus" in dieser Wohnung. Die Kommunikation mit Caroline und Marta war vorbildlich! Beide waren zu jeder Zeit ansprechbar und haben stets bei allen Fragen spontan und kompetent geholfen. Wir können diese Wohnung nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Besser geht nicht!
