We spent 3 nights at Azur -- two adults and a 7-year old child. This is not our first stay there. The beach is great, one of the best swimming spots in Alexandria, and there are two pool areas. Most of the small children with floaters etc have their space, while adults wanting a peaceful pool have one as well.
The service is good. We were in Ramadan, the fasting month, so there were around 5-6 people at the most in the pool (where we swam in the mornings), and about 5-6 families at the beach. Nothing compared to the regular summer crowds.
Azur is also situation in the middle of the Alexandria coast, allowing easy access to most of the Alexandria archeological, historical and cultural sites. It is also perfectly located for those who do not wish to have their meals at the hotel, as there are restaurants with international menus just across the street.
It is also near the Sidi Gaber Railway Station (around 10-15 minutes by taxi depending on the traffic), and accessible from the Alexandria Central Railway Station (20-30 minutes by taxi depending on the traffic), which is situation in Alexandria downtown.
