Cozy Getaway

Very well appointed little getaway, it was super quiet, very private, with attention to detail that made it feel like a far away oasis. It was very clean, including the hot tub. Everything you need for a quick getaway.

Outstanding property and customer service

We have stayed here previously and once again it was a great experience. It's nice and private, yet 20 minutes from a good size town in case you need something or forget something. Always a nice and relaxing atmosphere ,we would highly recommend to anyone that just wants to get away and enjoy time with their spouse. The courtyard is beautiful with the waterfall in the fire pit the hot tub is just spectacular and always enjoyable. And Mike and Elsie are top notch host always eager to take care of anything that may arise.

Remote Getaway

Outdoor space is great. It can be even be enjoyed when it rains as portions of it are covered. Inside is modern and new. Location is right of a country highway in the middle of nowhere. Perfect social distancing getaway. Close to Stockton State Park and Lake. Only complaint would be slow WiFi, it cannot handle streaming.

A Perfect Anniversary Getaway

For our 4th anniversary, we decided to stay fairly local and just splurge on the rental. We found this incredible rental house on VRBO that was named the "Stockton Lake Retreat" house by the owners. It truly was a retreat... with every detail being very modern with fancy features everywhere you looked. It had a rock formation water fountain, a propane fire pit, a hot tub, a rainfall shower, a small beautiful kitchen area, and was just minutes away from the Stockton Lake state park. Private and intimate. Plush and perfect! We sat outside and star gazed during the evenings. They provide everything you need and checkout was super easy - just send a text to the owner when you leave. It is small, so it isn't intended for a large family, but ideal for a romantic getaway, a small family or two couples trying to escape the city for a while. I would highly recommend this and can't say enough positive things about our trip, except that it just wasn't long enough!

Best weekend get away

This is the best experience I’ve ever had staying at a rental property. The attention to detail was amazing and Mike, the owner of the property was a joy to work with. The property was everything and more. We will be staying here multiple times throughout the year.

Great romantic getaway

We loved this property, very clean and modern and the hot tub was great! Internet was too spotty to really watch anything but they warn about that in advance, and hey, we go someplace like this to disconnect anyway! Mirrors over the beds are kinda neat too 😉

Great getaway

Check in was no hassle and easier than anywhere I've stayed. We loved the location away from all things and the seclusion of the wall around the courtyard. The hit tub was terrific as was tge fireplace and waterfall. The only thing missing in the courtyard was a couple strategically placed speakers for some light music. Would definitely stay again.

Great modern space near the lake.

This property was an amazing weekend getaway. It’s far enough from Springfield that you don’t have the noise and lights of the city, but close enough that the drive to go shopping and eating aren’t too long. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is interested in a country/lake getaway.

Lovely Private Cabin

We had a really wonderful time here. We loved the "Baby Waterfall", it was so relaxing to see and hear the water flowing. Everything is just as advertised. Nice and clean. The owner was available and really helpful. Beds are so comfortable. AC works great! Great kitchen with all needed dishes and utensils. Watching the stars from the hot tub was just awesome. It's a very enjoyable place for a getaway! Thanks, Mike!

Awesome place awesome host

Peaceful enjoyable a great place to unwind Mike is an awesome host who is there if you need him. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for comfort peace and quiet and quite a bit of stargazing. The property is as represented in the photos. In fact we look forward to going back again. Honestly think we found our permanent vacation spot.!
