This dynamic Southern city has a packed events calendar, with exciting activities and happenings taking place throughout the year.

Albertville, tucked away in the northeast corner of the state, is a city of authentic American culture, a somewhat undiscovered area. Enjoy a selection of events throughout the year, which ensure a fun, celebratory atmosphere pervades, especially during summer. Look at the calendar, pick an event and throw yourself into this warm and welcoming city where it won’t take long to get to know the locals.

The town is known for its down-to-earth feel and its laudable resilience, having bounced back from the devastation wrought by a tornado in 1908. Find Albertville in Marshall County on the elevated plateau of Sand Mountain.

Discover the story of the city’s past in the Pre-Civil War Cemetery and Museum. Read about the lives of Alabama’s earliest settlers on carved gravestones, which are hundreds of years old. The cemetery is also the final resting place of one of Albertville’s first residents, Thomas A. Albert.

The mountaintop location and summer heat make Albertville an ideal location for vineyards. The southern climate gives the grapes a unique flavour. Find red and white wines as well as wines made from muscadine grapes and other fruit. Many Alabama wineries offer tours as well as tastings.

Stop in Albertville during the summer and find a wide variety of activities taking place. Summer in the City is a programme of free events and includes an open-air cinema, several farmers markets and a downtown dodgeball tournament. The biggest event of the season, however, is August’s Main Street Music Festival, with multiple bands on stage in the city centre.

Watch World War II-era planes and modern jets flip and fly through the air at the Albertville Airshow. The show takes place in September every year and celebrates the aviation history of the town, which is the home of the Alabama Aviation College.
