This property is in a great location. It looks nice and has a cool vibe. It’s right near the mall and the university at Albany. Wouid stay again

Great place to stay. Being so close to Crossgates Mall is nice and the kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool.

We have stayed at the Tru Hilton at Crossgates many times and love the facility very much. But during this stay, we encountered a few "glitches." We had difficulty checking in due to a computer issue resulting in our credit card temporarily being wrongly declined. Plus the hotel room TV system was down intermittently during our stay. A bit annoying, but still a great staff and amenities.

My biggest complaint is the less than hygienic tubes hanging in the shower and at the sink. When the tubes were lifted there was old soap, lotion or whatever was in the tube congealed at the base. While pricing was not an issue, this was definitely a bare bones expereience.

When I made my reservation, I requested a room with a bathtub and on the lower level. I received neither.

I am sorry that we were unable to meet your requests Unfortunately, no requests came through to our system here at the hotel. Just for your information when booking reservations in the further none of Tru standard rooms have tubs. I hope you had time to enjoy some of our amenities during your stay.

I loved the environment and the convenience of the hotel location. The check was fast and I loved the fact that I was asked what floor I wanted I chose a floor that was quite because I was studying for a very important test the next morning. Everything went perfectly and the staff was more than helpful.

Bring back carpet!
Did not like that the room was not carpeted. I know it’s more sanitary to not have the carpet but I hate it. Also lots of noise coming from other rooms. Minimal amenities in the room such as Qtips, towels.

Pet fee was an unpleasant surprise!
The dog fee of $75 plus tax was an unpleasant surprise… no mention of that when I booked the room. Aloft hotels are cheaper and don’t charge a pet fee… they give your dog a toy at check in! This Tru is in need of a renovation.

Meh. Cons: Can hear all floors above and below you. No tubs. Pool is chilly, unbearable. They state they keep it at 80 degrees. Way to cold. No crowds in the pool of two adjoining hotels on a Holiday week should say enough for how unbearable it was. Also, no hot tub, and bathrooms are outside of the pool area. Linen is shoddy, fitter sheet doesn’t fit bed, bedspread is in two pieces and paper thin. Very short/early breakfast options 6-9. Pros: lobby, easy parking, nice options on buffet breakfast. Again, Meh. Won’t be back.
