It was a good choice
It was a dark rainy night, and heavy traffic. I wish there was much better lightning at the entrance sign. Without GPS I would’ve driven right past it. But the hotel itself was lovely. The lobby was very nice. Everything was very clean. My room was comfortable and very pretty. It had some soft curved lines in the furniture and the desk. The wall over the bed Had a very pretty sort of mural. Also,the refrigerator and microwave were elevated so you didn’t have to almost stand on your head to see into the refrigerator. I just felt very comfortable there and look forward to staying there again.

I stayed at the Courtyard because it was convenient to the airport. The shuttle was dependable. There is a comfortable bistro/bar that is open in the evening. After a full day of traveling all I needed was a clean place to have a glass of chardonnay. The food wasn't special.

In May I stayed at the SpringHill suites by Marriott in San Antonio, and my experience was so good that when I travelled to Albany I looked specifically for Marriott and found the Courtyard at the airport. I was not disappointed. Clean, good security, excellent and really helpful staff, great breakfast offering, and onsite laundry facilities, plus some interesting interior lighting and design. I'll stay with Marriott in future travels.

Be careful reserving a room with this hotel as they gave away our room type before we arrived. We requested a king size bed, the reservation had already been paid & when we arrived, Joann (a real pleasure) informed us that our reservation had been changed to 2 queen beds. She tried to tell us that we changed the room type, but after informing her that we would not have selected the hotel if it did not have the king bed, she dug further into the issue. She finally admitted that the assistant general manger, Karen, changed the reservation without anyone informing us prior to arriving. We called back the hotel about 6 days later after returning from vacation (all other hotels which we stayed were wonderful), and spoke with the front office operations manager named Davey. Davey repeatedly indicated that his hotel could do nothing to remedy the previous situation and/or appease a dissatisfied customer. He deflected routinely throughout the call and informed me that because the reservation was made with Expedia, any resolution to the matter would have to come from Expedia. I subsequently called Expedia & they quickly gave me a $25 coupon for future reservations (great customer service from them).Expedia informed me that the hotel and Davey were erroneous in their claim that any refund would need to come from Expedia and that the hotel has the ultimate authority to issue a refund. They even called Davey at the hotel and once again he refused to remedy the situation.
