The Albany Foreshore Guesthouse is a cute and quirky place to stay. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Cathy is a wonderful host who cooks an amazing breakfast. Can highly recommend a couple of nights staying here.

Amazing accommodation with great breakfast included. Lovely historic building with period furniture and incredibly decorated walls. Lovely extra touches included in stay. Very happy with our stay here and Cathy and Richard were extremely friendly and helpful.

Rooms were tidy and beds were very comfortable. Lovely staff and good service. However the place is in need of a major update and decluttering. Ensuite per room would be better. Pathway going into the building is a little bit of a safety issue.

Location was good apart from the late night noisy patrons from the hotel just down the road. Guest house has huge potential but let down by owners little interest in spending any money on it. Guest house was cluttered and dusty with paint coming off the walls. Bathroom was not pleasant. Booked for 5 days left after 3.

Lovely, quirky accommodation. Bright helpful manager, Veronica. Choice for breakfast included. Lots of history. Complimentary port available for guests to drink. Easy to walk to anything that Albany has to offer. Secure parking (although a little tricky).

This is a beautiful building overlooking the bay. The owner / Manager makes sure that people are comfortable and have everything they need. Very interesting camera collection on display. Close to restaurants etc

Location was good. The one staff member was charming. We did not have our own bathroom. The decor is old. The room was crowded with very old fashioned furniture. The lighting was completely inadequate. The bathroom we had to use was appalling. The atmosphere was oppressive.

Our small four bedroom Guest House has one Employee, as more would be a crowd. Two bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The other two rooms share one bathroom. This is detailed to guests beforehand, and is the reason a night’s stay, with full breakfast, secure parking at the back, in an historic building overlooking the harbour is only $100 per night. Old fashioned furniture is actually new, and matches the style of the 1881 building. Puzzled by “inadequate” lighting and “atmosphere was oppressive”? Clearly this Guest should have found a modern style hotel with blank walls and low ceilings.

Very Old and cluttered but priced accordingly. Do not satay if you dont like steep stair cases. Gate locked at night but couldn't find the padlock easily when trying to get in late at night

The parking area is not suited to larger cars - very cramped. Padlocked access gates not easy to re- lock once you actually manage to unlock them. Access to accommodation is via 2 sets of stairs which many could find a bit of a trial. Bedroom quaint, cosy and comfortable. Bathroom clean but needs attention - cracks, peeling paint. Tea/coffee area clean and well stocked. Breakfast enjoyable and well presented

Owners were great with communicating prior to arriving and very obliging. We had complimentary port which was a nice touch. Breakfast was served in our room and was very nice. Would recommend a stay, wished we could stay longer. Parking provided is limited and would be a tight situation if busy. Note not all rooms have a separate bathroom, some are shared. Note there are two sets of stairs to get to rooms although staff were happy to assist with taking luggage up.

I normally don't voice negativity. However. On arrival my thoughts were good. Until the manager started walked me through the accommodation. As we were walking up the stairs I could clearly identify the smell of smoke. I advised the manager that I could smell the smell og smoke. Then he showed me the room that I would be in, After entering the room and looking around the room, I asked where is the bathroom was. The manager showed me the bathroom but before you enter the bathroom you enter a smsll room size of a larger pantry which all residents use to make a coffee. The manager opened the bathroom room door, however the door wasn't locked, my alarm bells rang as to any resident or staff could use the bathroom. And the bathroom wasn't clean, there was pupic hair on the toilet bowl. Walked downstairs and what I know now I was confronted by the owner who started arguing about what i said. He yelled and was abusive, saying he demanded that I take my cap off in side. As I tried to advise on the door not being locked and anyone could enter and use the bathroom, he continued to be abusive and then said if you don't leave He would call the police. At this point a said I wish for a refund. He grinned and began to be abusive. I asked agian for a refund he said NO. He again said he will call the police. As i began to walk toward the door to leave he said to what I believe is his wife go take a photo of his car. I was in a bit of shoke at this. As I walked yowards the road, I was follow

The Anonymous complainer arrived having booked the budget room from the internet. Mr Anonymous then claimed that he had paid for the best room. After refusing his request for a free upgrade, he walked up and down trying to find something to complain about. Mr Anonymous then suggested someone, somewhere, was smoking - which was false. Mr Anonymous started to shout and was asked to leave, as he was disturbing quiet guests upstairs. Mr Anonymous then thought he could make a fuss by going to the Police but the Police dismissed his hurtful rantings. We run a quiet business and try our best to ensure all Guests have peaceful occupation. Most Guests are delightful people, respectful and appreciate our Guest House set in our historic 1881 building.

History, charm and hospitality
If you want a stay in an amazing property, you have to stay here. An historic building and the B&B is superb. The rooms are older, but very well kept up and you have to check out the artwork that decorates the rooms and the dining room. Beautiful 14 foot ceilings make you feel like you have stepped back in time! Breakfast is made to order and lots of choices. We have to say the glass of port that was available before we went to bed was a great touch! The area is right across from the shoreline in Albany and easy walking to restaurants and shops. Wifi is only available in the dining room, but works well. Parking may be limited in peak season, but was fine when we were there.

Very happy with my second room, and would return.
3 night very pleasant stay. Disappointed with no views, or fridge in my room 2, but was upgraded to room 5 for 2 nights, with great harbour views. Salim is a lovely understanding man, running the beautifully furnished old world establishment. Close to shops, harbour etc, and safe parking. Smallish fridge to share in little coffee/tea room. Wi-fi access downstairs.

Enjoyed my stay. Reminded me of the bed and breakfast guest houses of Scarborough or Blackpool in the uk. Friendly service and great breakfast with good location. Ideal for a short stay. Albany itself is my WA favourite town - a must visit.

This was a super find in downtown Albany. The manager (and it seems everything else) Sarin is delightful and always on hand for advice of local attractions. Rooms quirky but clean and spacious. Would recommend to everyone.
