Perfect Home Away From Home

We loved this home! It was so clean! My mother wore white socks around the house and they were white at the end of the day! The home was well stocked with everything we needed. We would love to stay here again in the future!

Awesome views!!

Great house with great views.... especially sunsets on the deck! Great location for our daily adventures. Well equipped and in great shape. Host was friendly & responsive. We would definitely stay there again!

The view from this property was amazing. We spent hours on the patio relaxing, visiting and enjoying the views. The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable.

Alamogordo - Thunder Road House

Very nice house for us. The home was clean and the house was advertised appropriately. The evening sunset over the city is spectacular as well are the morning sunrises. I would rent this residence again.

Nice Views

House is comfortable and wonderfully located up a hill where you can see the city below, mountains, and White Sands in the distance. We watched the eclipse from the back driveway and had a clear view. We would recommend this house for anyone visiting Alamogordo.

Great White Sands Visit

We spent two nights here so we could visit White Sands. Everything was super smooth, communication was good, check in was easy, directions were clear. The view was great when it wasn’t hazy out (sand and wind whipping up at all times of day). It was fairly steep getting to the house but we got used to it and it’s worth it for the view. The house was comfortable, beds are extremely firm. We realized you have to drive to most things in this area of New Mexico anyways so a 10-15 min drive was not a big deal. 30 mins to White Sands which was an unforgettable experience. My only feedback would be it would be nice to have a couple extra towels. We had one per person to shower and one hand towel in the kitchen and that was it. It was fine but could have used some extra when it was raining and we had wet shoes coming in the house and no mat. Overall it was a great trip.

Great Place - Terrible Host

Nice property and location. Horrible host. We have stayed in Alamogordo and Ruidoso multiple times for the past two years without issue. I admit we made a mistake by not bagging all trash and rectified the mistake immediately by picking up the trash and disposing of it ourselves. I don't think this warranted an ALL CAPS email lambasting us for the mistake. That should have indicated what kind of host we had. This is the only place out of at least 14 VRBO and Air BB rentals we have stayed, for the past two years, that we have had any issue with. Now we are being blamed for breaking a nightstand and a painting and leaving a GIANT mess. The only photos produced are a few spots on the floor and a couch??? I did not receive any photos of the alleged broken items. In fact we re-hung a piece of artwork that was falling down off the wall upon arrival. We are taking pictures of every space from now on when we arrive and leave a place. I do not want to have false charges added to our credit card with no evidence. We were also blamed for a faulty ice maker.

Stunning Secluded Southwestern Stay!!

Pictures do not do this place justice!!! Often times listings look way better in photos. That’s definitely not the case here. Upon arrival we were blown away with how the house was nestled up near the top of the hillside and the expansiveness of the property. With 3 young children, between two families, we appreciated the secludedness. It felt very safe and the kids got to enjoy a sleepover in their own room. Win-win for everyone! The house is tastefully decorated, with good quality wood furniture and has a wonderful Southwestern vibe. The beds were all super comfortable and we loved having all the cozy furniture in the living area to hang out. The extra amenities such a soap in the showers, extra toilet paper, trash bags and even laundry supplies were all unexpected bonuses. We came in at dark our first night but overlooking the city lights is really cool! We got an incredible sunset our last night and the view really is amazing as described. This stay was the end leg of a 3000+ mile road trip and we almost cancelled the 2nd night of our two night stay to get home sooner. So glad we didn’t! If was the perfect culmination of a great trip. Edward the host responds to all inquiries/messages almost immediately. Communication is top-notch! Hope to visit again someday and will stay here no doubt!

Great Escape

This was a perfect respite from a stressful job back home. Just sitting with a cup of tea while looking out the large picture window, overlooking the town and seeing White Sands in the distance was calming. The mentions of the beautiful sunsets weren’t exaggerated. Actually being at White Sands one evening at sunset and watching the colors of the sky and mountains change was awesome. My son was even impressed. :) Speaking of which, the purpose of the trip was to see him and provide a Thanksgiving meal for him and a few of his fellow Airmen. The house pretty much had everything I needed in terms of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, serving dishes and even turkey platters! The dishwasher, washer and dryer all worked great and were very handy. We only used two of the bedrooms and both beds were really comfortable. The master bedroom had a beautiful view, a large closet and a nice vanity area and bathroom. The decor throughout the house was very nice and colorful and definitely set a southwestern vibe. As for things to do, I visited the Space History Museum and Planetarium that can be seen from the house. It was worth the time. We also drove to Ruidoso, a cute mountain town about an hour away. The pine forest is such a contrast to the rocky, desert mountains. I didn’t get to see any elk or moose but we did see snow falling and covering the trees. Seeing the snow reflected in the holiday lights leaving the casino and heading back to Alamogordo was icing on the cake.

The incredible view of the basin, the porch and deck off the bedrooms made this one of our favorite home rentals ever. Add the well-appointed rooms and the artwork and we thought it would be an ideal home for retirement!

I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in Alamogordo New Mexico! The views are absolutely amazing and the house is clean and well equipped, the host was very good at getting back to me if I had questions on a scale of 1 to 10 I give this a 10 plus I would definitely stay at this property again when I travel in that area.
