Best of the best

This was the perfect stop on the ring road. We were 2 minutes from the forrest lagoon, and 5 minutes from the center of Akureyri. The home was well equipped with the BEST shower of our stay. The sky was very dark and great for star/aurora watching. We were thoroughly inpressed with the luxury of the space. Owners were very gracious and went above and beyond for our stay. This place was charming, comfortable, and convenient.

Amazing Hideaway

We loved staying in our Viking Cottage. It was so nice to have a spacious place with a personal hot tub all to ourselves! The heated floors were amazing, and the bed in the loft was very comfortable. The location is just a few minutes drive from the Forest Lagoon and downtown Akureyri and about a half hour from Goðafoss waterfall. It is beautiful to look across the fjord and see the town and the mountains from the cottage. A perfect vacation getaway spot! It was our favorite place we stayed in Iceland and wished we'd stayed for more than two nights.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the place, the view of the mountains and the fjord/town of Akureyri, and the spectacular show that we got from the northern lights on one of our nights there. We saw the lights on two of the four nights, and of course, there's never a guarantee. But on the night that we had a mostly clear sky, the show was spectacular. If you visit in the winter and get lucky, it's a beautiful spot to see the lights overheard from outside both the back and front of the place. Benedikt was good when it came to answering questions by email, and we chose not to rent a car and use the local taxi company to get to and from town. That added a little expense to the stay, but it was well worth it for us. Some guests in the other units did what we did. Some rented cars. It worked very nicely either way. We strongly recommend staying here and hope you get lucky with the lights like we did.

Excellent central location

The apartment was very well decorated and well equipped. Benedict was great at helping us find the apartment and providing us with great information about the local area. The apartment was right in the centre of town and really well located for shops, nightlife and restaurants. Great place to stay!

Nice space, great views.

Really nice location. Google maps tried to take us a different way each time. So the hosts may want to check that. A few of the dishes in the drawers were dirty when we arrived, but otherwise very nice and clean. If you are expecting a North American style hot tub, it is not that. No jets and you fill it with hot water yourself. Fills quickly and is ready in about 30-45 minutes. The view is spectacular, very comfortable beds. Would recommend to others.

This is an incredible place to stay. It was problem the best lodge we've ever been to. It has stunning views across the fjord which can be enjoyed from the hot tub. It's really well equipped and was always a great place to come back to at the end of the day. Thank you!

Es war wirklich toll, ausser das die Bademäntel für das Whirlpool gefehlt haben. Aber ansonsten würden wir sofort wieder buchen.
