The basic rates apply for two guests in a double or twin room, with an additional charge of 7500 ISK per night for each extra guest after the second. Children under the age of 2 years stay free of charge in their parent’s room if an extra bed isn’t required.

It is hard to predict winter weather, and sometimes you can expect sunny, warm days following heavy snowfalls. Our house is accessible throughout the entire winter; however, sometimes snow drifts might obstruct the short road leading to our house, which is located just 30 meters from the regularly cleaned/plowed public road. The public road services work well, and our street just outside the gate is plowed as needed, usually within a couple of hours after the snow ends. While the main road is promptly cleared by public services, it's essential to note that private roads, such as the one leading to our house, are not regularly maintained during winter, only after the end of a heavy snowfalls. To overcome potential challenges, we recommend parking your car near the post box (as many locals do) on the well-cleared public road and walking the last 30 meters to the house on foot when the snow conditions make driving difficult. Alternatively, guests have the option to arrange clearing by a tractor/plow from a neighboring farmer for an extra fee.

We really enjoyed this spacious four-bedroom place. The kitchen was well outfitted and the views were amazing! It was very close to places we wanted to see. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens and pillows. I give it a thumbs up!
Awesome stay and place is as stated! Communication was exceptional and thorough. The views are amazing and it’s set in a nice quiet area away from the hustle of the “tourist” area in Akureyri, but close enough to dip in and out. I would definitely recommend this location. It’s set up to accommodate large groups too.
We had an amazing stay in this magnificent house. Amazing view overlooking the fjords and Akureyri. Quiet, yet beautiful area all around with wonderful people.
Our family of 5 stayed here while doing a road trip around the ring road. Overall I’ll give our stay a 5/5. The house was very spacious, had every amenity you could ask for, and was just a few minutes drive from downtown Akureyri. The beds were very comfortable, the house was clean, and we really enjoyed the espresso maker this house had. I would highly recommend this house!
A spacious home with beautiful views, great for watching sunrises and sunsets. Spacious kitchen for meals to be prepared by more than one pwrson at a time. Large gathering spaces for comfort.
The beautiful home is centrally located in the capital of the north. All the wonders of nature are within a comfortable drive. The town of Akureyri is lovely and offers many dining options. The Forest Lagoon is literally three minutes from the property. Four adult couples had plenty of room and all enjoyed the stay.
This house exceeded our expectations -- there was nothing missing in the kitchen or anywhere else. If you are a wine drinker you will love this house and the bonus room. Comfortable beds and loads of room to relax and unwind. Host was easy to communicate with. Thank you
If you are traveling with a large group this is the perfect place to stay. We were there with my mom, my sister’s family and my family for a total of 9. It was spacious and comfortable and everything is very high end. The house is located high on the hill across the bay from downtown Akureyri, allowing for the most amazing views of the bay. It’s a great location to access the gems of the diamond circle and quaint fishing villages. The host responded to questions quickly and checked in with us just before our stay. I would recommend this house for anyone that is looking for a luxurious stay in Iceland.
I can’t say enough about this property or the host. The home itself is exceptional - warm, comfortable furnishings, exquisitely decorated, chefs kitchen, options for both privacy and shared time together, every modern convenience. The sun room is amazing and the views from almost every window of the mountains in the background towering over the city are amazing. And accessing the home was a pleasure. The host - Vladis - is a thoughtful, kind and informative owner. He allowed us to adjust our reservation when plans changed, provided terrific tips and local recommendations, and was timely and clear in all communications. Our family has used VRBO for dozens of rentals over the past 8-10 years, and have stayed in many lovely homes, but this was hands down the best experience of all. Highest recommendation.

Hard to find
After not being able to find the place for about 15 minutes in the dark at 10:30pm, called no answer. Kept messaging and getting links that didn’t work. Called VRBO and paid for them to call host, no answer. Finally just drove around until we found it.
Nice house with hot heated floor. Couldn’t figure out how to turn down the heat. Lights stayed on outside, so if the aurora had been out wouldn’t have seen it. Maybe motion lights?
The house is nice. But, a little “cold” feeling. Not homey. Nice area. Comfy beds. No washcloths. Would be great for a large family.
We killed at least 9 flies!
We had a major issue at check-in but to the credit of the owner, they resolved it as quickly as possible. They communicated with us well and apologized but it still resulted in a late and stressful check-in for us.
The home is as pictured with the exception of all the strange plumbing in the bathrooms to accommodate heated seats and a bidet. Mostly it made us laugh but it felt like the house wasn't finished yet. The mattresses were marginal in the master bedroom where we stayed. The kitchen has three different cook tops and that was confusing as they don't all work. We realized later info about cooking was in some instructions the owner sent and we missed while traveling. Having information about the house and some local recommendations at the house would have been helpful.
The outside area definitely needs some attention. We had planned to BBQ, but the yard was overgrown and the dish of empty cigarette butts by the BBQ area was off-putting to us.
That said, the location is ideal for day-trips around the area. The kitchen seemed well stocked with dishes. There was no coffee for the first morning as promised so come prepared.
Good stay and it was just fine overall, but definitely not our best VRBO experience.
Excellent place. It was quite large with lots of amenities. Location was perfect. A great view of the town and just on the other side of the water. Host was awesome as well.
This home is in a great location to Akureyri as well as day trips. Kitchen is well equipped and home is spacious. Don’t forget to check out The Forest Lagoon - just 5 min from the house.
This villa was so amazing. I would highly recommend this rental. Kitchen was completely stocked. Enjoyed the living room and sunroom area. We booked this property due to it's proximity to Forest Lagoon and it did not disappoint.
Aukreyri was our base for 2 nights while experiencing northern Iceland and this home was lovely! Big bedrooms and bathrooms and huge well stocked kitchen. The view over Aukreyri was amazing and it was easy to get to where we needed to be. Great communication with Ana and I would recommend this home to any group of friends (or family.)
We had a nice stay for 2 nights at the house. Great views of Akureyri. Location was very easy to find and check-in was easy. The house was just as described in the listing. The hosts were very accommodating. We left a bag and did not realize until we were hours down the road. The hosts arranged for the bag to be sent to Reykjavik for us to pick up before we flew out a few days later. Greatly appreciated and highly recommend!!
My 5 friends and I had a wonderful stay at this villa. The house is luxurious and had an amazing view. Everything was clean and as described. The house is less than 10 minutes away from the Akureyri center by car, which we found to be just the right distance. The price for your stay is based on how many bedrooms you will use, as mentioned in the booking description, so remember to get back to the host with the correct information (as I had forgotten to do with all my trip planning)
If you are driving from the east, note that the closest way to the house is through the only toll tunnel in Iceland. You can avoid it with a scenic 15 minute workaround.
