Exclusive villa opposite Akureyri

This exclusive villa is very well situated just opposite Akureyri. It is rented by celebrities but also by other people who enjoy the location and the high standard of the house. It was built by the Icelandic architect Fanney Hauksdottir in 2006. It was recently refurbished with high-quality equipment such as ReVoX audio equipment as well as with attractive materials such as walnut, shale and glass.

The house is surrounded by a 16'000 m2 garden and a security fence. An alarm system and cameras ensure safety for the guests. Any kind of additional service is available on request.

During winter snow drifts may block road access to the house. The road to our fence and the driveway is not maintained during winter time. In this case a short walk (400 meters) is necessary. This is a comfortable, well designed house in a good location. Folks who want to see a variety of remarkable geological sites and thermal hot springs can find them within a 1.5 hour drive from this location. We had a peaceful panoramic view of Akureyri, the river, and surrounding mountains from the huge windows across the front of the house. The house was perfectly cleaned and provided all the amenities needed for cooking and relaxing. The four of us cooked lots of delicious meals, listened to a variety of music provided by the host, and spent quiet time in the hot tub. The beds are very comfortable and the floors are heated.The property manager was responsive and cooperative. They provided a useful guide for living in the house and special places to see. We would stay there again if we returned.

Amazing Stay

Another Wonderful Stay

We just finished 6 nights at Hrafnabjorg. This was our second stay at this particular home. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, it was fun to have a hot tub to relax in each night and the views of the fjord and Akureyri are spectacular. We were 3 adults & 2 kids. We highly recommend it!

Incredible house with great views of Akureyri. A perfect spot to slow down a bit for three nights halfway through our two week ring road circuit. Loved the outdoor tub!

Perfect in every way!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house was comfortable and had everything we needed, as well as extra thoughtful touches. The views were absolutely incredible! On our first night the aurora were out and we just turned off all the lights and watched from the living room- it was magical. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Incredible views and fantastic house

We loved the stay here - great house and well equipped. The beds were really comfortable and the house really warm. The location was incredible - the most stunning views and easy access to Akureyri and surrounding areas. We visited Husavik, Grenivik, Hauganes, and Myvatn area. We also saw the Northern lights from the garden!

Beautiful, roomy house, with an excellent view of Akureyri across the fjord. If I ever visit Akureyri again I will stay here. A perfect place for my family of four! 10/10.

Amazing property!!!!

If you are on the fence about booking this property or think that it is fake or too good to be true you are wrong. It is absolutely fantastic!!! One of the best places we’ve stayed in our travels. The views are epic, especially if you are there in the winter and see the northern lights from the windows or the hot tub. It is quiet, private, great location to Akrueyri, the diamond circle, Húsavík and so many other places in the north. We loved the heated floors, the hot tub, the steam room, the automatic window shades, the tub, just everything about the house is top notch. So, book it now :)

Spectacular stay in beautiful home

This five star home welcomes you to elegance from the time you walk in the door. Two couples enjoyed watching the northern lights, relaxing in the great room while looking across the water at Akureyri, and listening to music on the sound system. Highly recommended!

Great house--Great Location

The beautiful house has a wonderful hot tub, views are great (Northern lights were incredible), steam room was wonderfully relaxing and a special treat and access to Akureyri was incredibly easy.

Another fantastic stay at this wonderful and distinctive home!

After a wonderful experience 18 months ago we returned to Hrafnabjorg for a second stay, this time with friends who joined us for a visit to northern Iceland. Everything was fantastic again, particularly with the amazing views with the snow covered mountains. Always warm and comfortable to return to after our daily explorations around the region, we will most definitely be back again in the future!

Anniversary Trip

So good we visited again.

This was our second visit to this house; we liked it so much when we visited in summer that we thought we’d see what it was like in winter. Once again, we had a fantastic relaxing stay and made the most of the facilities in the house, the views from the living room and Akureyri. The accommodation is of a very high standard with lots of space and it is kept spotlessly clean. A lot of overnight snow on our final night required a little digging to get the car out and back onto the road. We’re not used to these kinds of conditions, which added to the whole experience so we a third visit is now on our future plans.

Beautiful Modern Home Overlooking Akureyri

This is a very stylish, modern home that has views of Akureyri, the fjord and the surrounding mountains. It's very comfortable and peaceful. It's just a short 5-10 minute drive to the center of town or the airport. We have already booked our return trip.

Villa with Stunning View

We stayed in the villa for six days with our entire family, and it was one of the most luxurious homes we've ever booked. The view of Akureyri, especially at night, was breathtaking. Amazing Property with Amazing Views

The house is amazing. The views it offers are superb. We spent a week admiring the view up, down and across the fjord to Akureyri. The hot tup and steam room were great. The garden is huge and i winter is good for sledding.

Idyllic Iceland retreat

Our family spent 2 nights in this beautiful home. From the moment we stepped through the door we knew we were in for a treat. Spectacular property overlooking the fiord

This property overlooks the fjord below it, Akyureryi across the bay, with snow capped mountains behind the city in the distance. Truly stunning views. And everything about the house itself is 5 star. Right down to the coffee maker! Loved sitting in the geothermal hot tub overlooking the city and the mountains. This is the kind of place where, if you don’t feel up to touring, you’ll be perfectly content just looking out through the vast windows.

Modern and stylish villa with great views to Akureyri and the harbour

We really enjoyed the modern rooms with the views and the Revox sound system. It is a luxurious and spacious villa with large glass fronts from living room, bedroom and even bathroom. Large property and very calm. Just one hour drive away from the wonderful Myvatn area, and 30 minutes from Godarfoss.
