Great location, the owner is very nice and comes in to make sure you are doing good. He bakes fresh bread every morning and leaves some in the common kitchen for everyone to enjoy!
We had a great stay , the host was very nice and friendly. He went out of the way to assist us. Perfect little place near downtown. We were able to drive 10 mins from this place to see Northern Lights as well..I have only compliments for this place
Very nice and kind owner, served fresh waffle for breakfast.
Kitchen has all the amenities that makes you feel like home.
Shared bathroom and decent room size.
This was our favorite guest house stay during our weeklong travels in Iceland. The owner, Jon, provides the place with a personal touch by offering freshly baked home made bread every morning. Parking is easy to find on the street in front of the property. We would stay here again if traveling through Akureyri in the future.
Posto eccezionale, davvero ben situato e confortevole.
clean and nice, owner provided cereals and milk and homemade bread for breakfast ! close to downtown and supermarket and shopping mall within walking distance. park in front of the house.
Brekkugata 33 was a pleasant place to stay in Akureyri. I hung out for 3 night on a working visit. It was easy to find, and parking was very convenient and easy.
The owner, Jon, was attentive and friendly with the check in, and available as needed beyond that. My room was ample for 1 and would have been comfortable for 2. There are larger rooms as well. My room was furnished very simply, but adequately.
The only criticism is that the floor definitely needed sweeping/vacuuming as there were some coins from a previous guest on the floor under the bed, along with dust and hair that didn't belong to me.
There is a shared kitchen that is well equipped. I took advantage of that and made 3 dinner with groceries from a store in a mall a short walk away.
The bathroom is also shared by 4 rooms with up to 9 or so people. I thought it would get dicey, but it didn't. I was up earlier than other guests though, and that made a difference for me.
It's quite easy to walk just about anywhere interesting in Akureyri from the house. In that context it is quite convenient.
All things considered, it worked out well and I would not hesitate to return.
