"I absolutely loved my stay at the Drift Inn in Cayo. Bike rental was cheap and convenient, though I wish they had bike locks. Air conditioning was so nice to have. Great atmosphere, live music and karaoke on weekends, staff were all very social and welcoming. Made me feel right at home. Their restaurant also had some of the best food I’ve had in all of Belize.
If you like Belizean culture, sometimes they have the Garifuna Collective play a concert, sadly I missed it!

"I wish we would have planned more time here vs at the coast. Cohune Palms was the highlight of our Belize trip. This place was paradise!! We were reluctant at first due to no a/c but the weather cooled off at night and was perfect. Fans during the day kept everything enjoyable. The river next to the resort was beautiful and a blast to swim in and enjoy the rope swing. We have 50x the mosquitos here in California…with a little bug spray you barely even notice them there. Mike, the owner of the property, has built a truly perfect paradise over the past 25 years and you won’t find a nicer host. He knows everything about the area. He and his crew will cook for you every meal if you want so you really don’t need to leave the property but the area is safe and the people are so friendly we walked or took or rental car all over without any issues. I can’t recommend this place enough. We had the whole place to ourselves and I can’t believe it’s not on every major travel site. Truly a hidden gem that I hate to review and spoil the secret but Mike deserves all the success in the world so I’m doing it :) "
