Apartment with view of sea and mountains, only 3mins from beach.
First impression of view from balcony when I saw a football/sports ground, was a bit disappointing, but actually it wasn't at all noisy, and I'd rather that than other buildings in front. You could still see the views. Apartment was clean, fairly well equipped, air con in bedroom but cld have done with one in the dining area as it was so hot. Anna and Vasilis were absolutely lovely, nothing was too much trouble. we were picked up and returned to the bus station, invited to their apartment for drinks etc to get to know them and giving us info on things to see and do. All amenities were very close by so did not have far to go for shopping. Lovely shops in town, great restaurants and bars. The people are so friendly in Crete, make you feel very welcome, speak in English too (which was a bonus). The land train trips are value for money, worth going on, especially the one to the olive farm where you get to have cookery lessons and make cheese. The semi-sub was good too, watching all the fish and sea turtles. There are 5/6 beaches to choose from, all walking distance too. We loved it and shall be returning next year!
