Faboulas hotel

A fantastic famiy run hotel - beautiful location and wonderful staff and owners. Food was amazing. We stayed for 3 nights but wished we had stayed longer. Will return.

Our stay at Ela Mesa was absolutely fantastic! The staff was so helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to make our experience as comfortable as possible. The room looked even better than the pictures, and we had amazing view of Athens in the distance. The town of Souvala was calm and peaceful with a few restaurants with good and affordable food, and a small, friendly local population. Highly recommend for your next vacation!

A well run hotel, the staff are very friendly with good communication. I needed help getting a taxi when I arrived in Aegina and they arranged one for me within 5 minutes. The hotel is very clean and I loved the pool. The breakfast is nice as well. I can recommend this hotel and hope to come back.

Great spot, quiet and close of everything. The owner helped us to rent a car, which was great. The Aegina Island is very beautiful, the view is spectacular. We went to Afaia Temple and the view was stunning. The roads are so so, but stit ok. Great Greek Taverns close too.

Great convenient location and good condition of propery, friendly and helpful property owner and staff. Parking lot could be cleaner and better arranged, WiFi signal at the lower level was not strong enough. Overall, our stay was a positive experience.

Best hotel ever

That was the best hotel i ever stayed. Free upgrade. Hugh room with all facilities (refrigerator, oven, hair dryer, they have even a fire place) The hotel have 2 swimming pools (one is private if you book the 2 specific rooms.) Breakfast it could be little better but still i am very satisfiyed. Highly recommend

Excellent hotel

The hotel was lovely and a 5 min walk to the small harbour village. The room was serviced every day with linen change every 3 days. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely beach 5 mins walk beyond the harbour up the steps of the end restaurant. Free sunbeds if you buy a coffee or snack. Delicious homemade food and excellent breakfast. Pool is lovely and we were often the only ones using it. Would recommend.

High highs and low lows

This is a hard review to write because there was substantial advantages and good points but also some concerns. I’ll start with the good points. Nice breakfast with a variety of protein (eggs, sausage, yougurt) and carbs (pastries, fresh bread, etc.). Great location as it is close to many sights (Temple of Aphaia, beaches) but still only a 15- minute drive from Aegina town. Pool is beautiful. Staff very friendly and helpful. But unfortunately not everything was perfect. We had to switch rooms after two nights because the A/C wasn’t working. Those nights were very hot. And it took quite a bit of convincing to get the rather crusty owner to acknowledge the problem. (We even went to a hardware store and bought a thermometer!) In the second room (which was very large and cool), the bed wasn’t great. And lastly, the wifi sucked. We always used data. Driving around, the hotel stock in Aegina seems rather poor (compared to what I’m used to), so this might actually have been one of the nicest places.

Great place ruined by venomous, angry, little man

Amazing island, amazing place with fantastic, friendly staff who work really hard and are so amenable to guests. Pool beautiful and clean, local bars and restaurants are great with very friendly people and great welcome. Then you have the only problem. The manager Thassos who is like a poisonous smell around the place with his arrogance and bad attitude to his customers. He seems to live in a world where everyone else is at fault. His voice can be heard all day, EVERY day shouting at customers and staff alike. His head is so far up his rear end that he hasn’t seen daylight for years. We would return to this idyllic place anytime and recommend it to anyone IF!!! he wasn’t there. Totally ruined our stay by losing the plot and upsetting everyone on such gorgeous, sunny days which should have been memorable for all the great things about Ela Mesa and the beautiful village of Souvlana but will only be remembered by our meeting this horrible, sad little man. Having read many reviews on trip advisor BEFORE our holiday and ignoring the warning signs about this little dictator who has more rules than a prison commandant, please stop and think again. I would warn anyone thinking about going to think hard and not make the same mistake that we made. DONT BOTHER JUST LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Beautiful property, excellent service and terrific food. The owners went above and beyond in helpfullness from arranging for onsite car rental, taxis, food...getting a room for our friends at another hotel since they were sold out....they were truly exceptional in flexibility and overall service. The hotel is a 10 minute car ride to Saint Nektarios monastery. Thank you for being wonderful hosts!

Fantastic hotel with amazing staff!

Fantastic hotel! One of our all time favorites! Extremely nice and helpful staff, excellent food, nice pools, sunset, balcony, aircondition etc. Also good area with beaches, snorkelling-spots and restaurants within easy walkingdistance. We will come back some day!

Die Unterkunft ist recht gut. Nur der Ort bietet überhaupt nichts. Wenn man nicht nur am Pool liegen will, braucht man unbedingt ein Auto. Zum Baden souvala nicht zu empfehlen.

Hotel was excellent but I was disappointed with the friendliness of the owner. I accidentally broke a cheap plastic lid to the cistern when pressing the flush button(on first day) and I felt intimidated by his displeasure. It subsequently made me uncomfortable and I did not stay on the premises other than to change and sleep. Lid was replaced within a couple of hours and could not have cost that much. Needs some customer services training.
