"Having been brought up in the area I have driven past Stonefield on numerous occasions. This year on a trip from Canada I decided to give it a try. A beautiful location easily accessible from the main road. I was impressed with the staff courtesy and helpfulness, the comfortable bar lounge and sea views. I would definitely stay there again. "

"The staff were extremely helpful, especially Amanda. As I was running late due to traffic I would have missed last order for eating, spoke with Amanda who said they would keep the kitchen open a little longer. Also due to work had to leave before breakfast was served and she sorted a packed meal left in the reception. Food was really good and amazing location. "

"A wonderful property at a stunning location. Can't really praise Scone Cottage - the property is amazing with modern amenities but Victoria and team are really great hosts and they have thought of everything.We are planning to visit again at some point - we loved the place."

"Small, quiet and cosy well-equipped cottage, immediately on the sea front with private deck area and pebbled beach, with main beach roped off and sloping down to sea. View of sea from inside cottage is more limited, but side windows do give a reasonable view. I was there on my own and although the cottage is equipped for 2, it would probably feel cramped for more than a couple of days if more than 1 person was staying there. There are pleasant places for coffee and to eat within walking distance or a short drive. Although quite a number of people walked past the cottage and along the beach with their dogs or to sail, it always felt quiet and tranquil."

"I have rarely used exceptional to review a hotel but the Kames was. We travelled here from New Zealand on holiday and we only had one night but it was exceptional. The restaurant menu is top class, the range on the menu was great and seriously 10/10. I had locally free dived seared scallops from the loch, I had the slow roasted goat shank with lentils - exceptional, and we shared a lemon tart with fresh berries. I loved the Kames and I seriously recommend both the hotel and the restaurant. That is my honest feedback, Thanks, Phil."

"We stayed 2 days and it was excellent. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The large drawing room that overlooks Loch Melfort was also available for us to use which we enjoyed. We enjoyed a delicious 4 course dinner on the evening of our arrival prepared and served by our host Mathew. This was our first visit to Melfort House and hopefully we will be back again soon."
