We normally stay at this property when visiting the college nearby and we have a nice stay. We’ve stayed at this property about 5-6 times in the past year and a half and we’ve had a great experience. This time around it it was quite different. We had a change of plans and we wanted to stay just one night instead of two. We let the hotel staff know at noon time and after dithering back and forth with managers and regional manager and several calls to Expedia to assist, the hotel said no, we can’t refund your one extra night because it was prepaid was their final answer. Yes, that doesn’t make sense. On top of that, before we left, I attempted to iron my shirt and a black substance on the iron ruined it. So I am out a Polo shirt and a one night charge. Now they have lost our business for the next 3 years staying anywhere from 6 to 8 nights a year for the upcoming college years. Not good (or smart) customer service.

Thank you for your recent stay. I understand your frustration with your experience from Expedia. They are the 3rd party that you used for booking your reservation as you dealt directly with them. The policies are set and agreed to by you when you confirmed and paid Expedia for your reservation. For this very reason, we encourage all guest to book directly with the hotel or thru the hotels website at www.marriott.com. Reservations booked directly thru our site, we are allowed to make changes to. All 3rd party reservation have to be modified by the party that booked their room. Your frustration is justified towards Expedia as that is the company you used to book your reservation. The hotel is only following the policies in place with Expedia. Once again i understand your frustration and hope that moving forward, you will book directly with the hotel to avoid this type of situation.

The breakfast area and bar. It was super quiet. There were real cups, real cutlery and real plates. Super delicious coffee. My new fave hotel chain.

The ratings overall would be much higher if we hadn’t found the previous guest’s dirty socks on the floor. It made us question if the room had even been cleaned.

It is right off interstate and easy to get to. It is very close to the shops downtown as well as minutes away from the Barter Theatre. I’m a big one for cleanliness and it met my stds very well.

Easily the nicest Fairfield I have stayed in. (Appeared) new, clean, great staff, and quiet rooms. If you are just stopping off the interstate, drive into Town it's a really beautiful main street with a couple of great restaurants.

Hotel was nice. What you would expect for this chain. Beds were comfortable. My only complaint was housekeeping did not clean my room (2night stay) and therefore did not replenish the coffee- otherwise everything was good!

Our expectations were exceeded in every aspect of our stay at this hotel. We only stayed one night but I wouldn’t have minded staying longer. The facility is meticulously maintained, the staff was professional and pleasant, and the mattress was comfortable. No shortcuts on the complimentary breakfast either. Because of my experience at Fairfield Abingdon, I have put Fairfield at the top of my list when I need accommodations.

Excellent place to stay
We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Abingdon to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail. We could not have been more pleased with our accommodations. The Fairfield Inn was immaculately clean, the staff friendly, the exercise room had high quality machines and again was very clean, the free breakfast delicious. We didn’t use the indoor pool but it looked very nice. We will definitely stay there again when visiting the area.
