"An amazing YHA at the foot of the Miners Track to Snowdon! Loved this location nestled at the pass of the Welsh Mountains! Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, the food was delish and so easy to get over to Snowdon! Remember to buy your parking ticket in advance. Loved my stay and I look forward to coming back… "

"The Slate is a lovely place, clearly a lot of thought and care has gone into the decor. Everything was spotless and well looked after. I stayed in a single room that matched the photos perfectly and was surprisingly spacious (always a welcome surprise). The shower water pressure was excellent too, much better than most places I’ve stayed! The location is fantastic — quiet, safe, and ideally placed for exploring Snowdonia, Bangor, and Anglesey. I even went to Barmouth and whilst it was a bit of a longer trek, it was still easy to get to. It is a bustling venue, so you have to expect some noise, I didn’t find it too much at all though. The nearby Trainline was also not troublesome. My only downsides were that smoke from pub-goers outside the front drifted into my room which was a bit overwhelming at times. Parking could also be tricky during the evenings/weekend - some sort of ‘reserved spaces for hotel guests’ system would make a big difference as it was a little frustrating getting back in the evenings and not being able to find a spot until someone decided to leave. Overall, very impressed with the venue and I was very happy and comfortable here ☺️"

"My mother and I came for a night and we were delighted with the lovely rooms. My mother chose the room with a bathroom that had a grabrail and a chair to sit on and it suited her well. The rooms were cosy and warm. The breakfast was a "help yourself" affair with cereal, yoghurts, brioche and croissants which you took to your room to eat. Milk and juices were in the fridge. A toaster would be a good addition with honey and jam but we were fine. There is no evening meal available here at the moment but we were given a list of places to eat nearby which was helpful. All in all, it was clean, warm, and the rooms were very nice. Thank you."
