Wet 'n Wild, Orlando

Warm, wet and wild – there must be something in the water at Florida's biggest aqua park that makes it one of Orlando’s most popular attractions for families.

A tropical oasis in the heart of landlocked Orlando, the Wet n' Wild waterpark is overflowing with fun and the perfect way to cool down on those sweltering summer days. The park opened in 1977 and is today considered the number one in family water fun.Thrill seekers who like fast-paced action won't be disappointed. The Bomb Bay slide begins with you standing on a trap door that opens up and drops you 23 meters into the waters below. Other speedy slides include the 6-storey Der Stuka and the Mach 5. These are all single-person rides, but there are plenty of multi-person rides too if you want to share the excitement with friends and family. The Surge is a 5-story tube ride that seats four and takes you on a wet, watery descent. The Black Hole takes you through futuristic tunnels of torrential water, lights and sounds. Disco H20 is also very popular; with music and colourful lights, it's like a party on the sea. Take to the waves at the Wake Zone and enjoy some water sports like paddle boarding, knee skiing and wake skating.Or, if you'd like something a little more relaxing, float along the gently winding Lazy River and take in all the sights the park has to offer. The Wave Pool Surf Lagoon is a quieter pool area with small sporadic waves. Surrounded by deckchairs and umbrellas, it's an ideal spot for the kids to splash around while mum and dad sit back and take a load off their feet. The whole family will have a blast in the Blastaway Beach area. With an 18-metre sandcastle as is its focal point you'll feel like you've dived right into a set from "Honey I Shrunk the Kids". Containing over 160 interactive toys and 15 slides, this castle keeps the fun flowing. To put your mind at ease, qualified lifeguards are on duty at all times and free life vests are available throughout the park. Wet n' Wild is located on the International Drive (I-Drive) and is open every day.
