“Strange”

Everything was fine, until my payment in local currency created a bit of inconvenience. It appears that old currency was unacceptable; so, i had to pay in credit card manner. I was able to use my old currency at other business. I'm puzzled by the strange incident. Otherwise, the hotel was fine.

“Quick review for fellow travellers”

Not much reviews for Dream hotel so i'll try to give you a quick overview. It's new small hotel near main Zagreb airport. Hotel website is a bit misleading about hotel look though. It's is really small, occupies 1st floor of a new appt building, that's it. Rooms look new and clean but all extremely small. They say it has restourant with extensive menu but it's just a small room with 3-4 tables which also serves breakfast in the morning ( did not try it). The night we stayed it seemed that receptionist guy was also barman, cook and bellboy at the same time. There are few cafes to get food around but nothing fancy though. Pros: easy to get to from highway, literally 5 mins drive to airport, has a free shuttle service to airport, free internet, parking. Has small bar at the reception. Cons: Tiny rooms even by euro standards, barely found space to put 2 small suitcases. Central AC was there but could not cool our room even overnight. I did not check the bill in the morning and was surprised to discover $10 charge for telephone use later which we did not even touched. My mistake though for not checking it and since it was paid in cash i can't even complain now. "Restoraunt" on premises was a bit misleading, making us to hunt food nearby in sleepy neighbourhood. Judge for yourself if this hotel worth to stay in. Location and included free services vs. accomodation quality. For us it was convinient to catch early flight but the worst accomodation in whole Croatia trip.

“Extraordinary staff...”

We booked this hotel for a brief overnight near the airport between flights. When we arrived at Zagreb airport, we learned that there were no taxis or ordinary vehicles allowed because the Pope was in town. We learned that everyone had to take a bus to a sports stadium nearby to get to taxis and other transport. The info desk called the hotel staff who said they would pick us up at the stadium. However, the buses were not marked and we ended up going into the city center in the pouring rain. We took a taxi back to the hotel, but the driver did not know the area and drove around in circles. Finally, we got back to the sports stadium and approached a police car. The police were English speaking and knew our names because the hotel staff had waited for us for nearly an hour. They called the hotel and a young woman drove right back to pick us up at 1AM. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly night manager who offered us free drinks. He woke us at 530AM to get back to the airport, cooked us a nice breakfast, and drove us to a park a block from the airport where we could walk in without taking a bus. Anyhow, staff really went out of their way to help us under difficult circumstances. Otherwise, hotel is new, rooms are small, but very clean and worth the low price.

Picked us up and returned us to airport, no charge, refused payment. Very very clean, sleek, had all the things I would need for a nice stay. Little bar down the hallway, friend staff (bought my husband a beer!). Very comfortable, very clean, nice desk, tv, great shower, towel heater !
