"Stayed for one night in a spotlessly clean modern bedroom in this very old hotel. The only things that let it down were lack of private parking, a very small en-suite and no hand soap. "

"Staff very accommodating and friendly - nothing was too much bother. Rooms very pleasant and beds very comfortable. Parking on site. Some ground floor rooms available in courtyard. Would definitely recommend as a base for travelling around the area visiting the any gardens, castles etc. Will definitely return again."

"The hotel is easy to find, great parking, ability to eat at the hotel and sit in a nice beer garden. If you have mobility issues make sure you request ground floor room as there are lots of stairs and long corridors. I stayed in a deluxe room which was advertised as bigger than average. Overall pleasing colour decor. Tea, coffee , water . Now to be picky - the mattresses on the single beds pushed together to represent a" king size bed " need replacing . The shower area needs to be bleached....

"Lovely hotel with bar and restaurant. The room was very comfortable with excellent tea and coffee making facilities. Comfortable bed with very spacious bathroom. We did not eat in the restaurant but the food looked nice. The staff were very friendly the only down side was the prices of the drinks at the bar."

"Situated near the centre, parking is available free after 5.45pm and until 8 45 am. Staff were excellent, I had a large clean room with a sofa, whilst being slightly dated it was functional and fine for one night. I would stay again. Wi fi was very good and free. Excellent water pressure in the shower. On site bar served decent food."

"Location, wow - beautiful vistas, lovely gardens, lovely cottage. Inside is also very nice indeed, well appointed and comfortable - only negative there was that there was a bit of a paraffin smell near the boiler, not sure if there had been a spillage. Otherwise great and extremely convenient for the RHS show. We cooked, we BBQd, we ate on the deck, we watch the wildlife. Alpaca farm is a short walk and was a lovely little trip for brekkie and animal watching. We will be back! Thanks Alison :)"

"Was informed 3 days before stay that we would be staying in a different house to listing, which for us was ok. Clean bedding, comfortable beds. However the house although wasn't filthy it wasn't clean. The whole place looked like a family had just "popped out". Clothes hanging on doors, shoes left where they had just taken them off, generally a untidy house."
