“Beautiful Location and surroundings”
Wonderful resort holiday destination. The grounds and facilities at Daydream are beyond belief. The pools, spa, gardens and living reef are meticulously maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The resort activities were great - the guided fish feed, the rainforest walk, the mini golf (wonderful Australian theme), the outside movie theatre were all fantastic. The day outings booked through ''Cruise Whitsundays" were also well organised with warm and friendly staff.
“Daydream Is Resort”
The hotel itself is very old and dated...needs a makeover asap to get up to speed with todays standards. On the other hand the staff are friendly and helpful where possible. It rained the whole time we were there so unfortunetly missed out on lots of activities and was dissapointed that they didnt try to supply other options to accommodate guests. Also the food availability is set up where the 2 restuarants alternate days so you dont get a choice. The food is ok but expensive for what it is. Its more of a 'family' orientated hotel, they need to have a bit more variety for groups and couples. A positive is the resorts day spa...amazing!!! The Daydream Resort and Spa has great potential to be a great destination for all but will need some love and hard work...We enjoyed the Whitsundays but will consider a different destination like Hamilton Is next time.
“Nice for a break but don`t book a wedding”
Hotel is getting tierd and needs some money spent on simple things like beds, aircons and fridges which were not up to scratch in most rooms. We travelled in a large group so saw several rooms and all need work. I paid a lot less for my room than others and had a better room so would not recommend spending more thinking you will get a better room. We were there for a wedding and it became disastorous because the air con was not working in the chapel or the reception venue - on an extremely hot humid day and when the bride & groom have spent tens of thousands of dollars this is not good enough, one guest collapsed and then the hotel charges them a call out fee for the nurse !! We were told off by staff for opening doors trying to get a breeze through the reception. The majority of the food was good value for money and very well presented but became boring as only one or two food places were open and they serve similar food. The activities were great, and the scenery can`t be beaten overall if you get a really cheap room rate go for it, you will have a great time but if you are paying top dollar I would recommend going elsewhere and definately do not recommend it for a wedding.
“Not Impressed and Terrible Food”
My room had a very moldy smell to it that never really went away even after I complained and they said they 'fixed' the smell. The food choices were minimal, not very healthy and repetitive (the same choices night after night, no variety). The spa was good but overpriced. Also, the markup for a single supplement was really high in my opinion.
“Wittsundays”
Awesome just love it !!
“A Beautiful Place to Relax”
Day Dream Island resort is a short ferry ride from Hamilton Airport, so is easy enough to get to. The grounds of the resort and the scenery are just wonderful. There is plenty to do there without spending additional money for trips off the island, and they seem to have activities for all ages. I was a bit disappointed with the snorkeling as the water was cloudy the whole time we were there. However, I was able to get a flavor for the Barrier Reef by spending some time at the resort's Living Coral Reef with real coral, sharks rays and an assortment of other tropical fish. Breakfast is included and had a large variety of hot and cold items. My husband is a big eater, so we enjoyed the buffet dinners. Our room was large, clean and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful.
