First off, the staff were wonderful - in a trip where we missed our first day due to a fight cancellation and the ACTV went on strike one day, everyone at the hotel was happy to help us, offer advice and provide their insight.
Our room was smallish (to be expected in an old building) but well presented, very clean, and comfortable. Everything we needed it to be!
We had breakfast at the hotel once - it was tasty enough, with a good range of hot and cold options from fruit and pancakes to salamis, cheeses, to bacon and eggs; with juice, teas, coffee and even Prosecco available to drinks.
The location was handy - about 10/15 minutes walk to Ponte dell’Accademia, another 10 on to tourist spots like Piazza San Marco. You could also hop over on a bot very quickly from the Salute stop, which also has boats going all the way up the grand canal. The nearby Peggy Guggenheim museum was brilliant, and we found ourselves walking that direction most of the time towards the shops, bars, restaurants and cafes of Dorsoduo and San Polo.
