The property was very good. However the receptionist was not friendly at all. She was blunt and un empathetic. Not flexible at all in allowing anyone to check in before check in time, which is fine, it was the tone of voice. Also another customers wife was robbed and he was asking for help and she just told him to go to police.

Very basic hotel. Barely any bedding, no safe or fridge in room, tiny shower and products. Stiff beds and pillows. Only booked as we needed somewhere to sleep coming into Venice at 11pm. "Breakfast" was cold hard boiled eggs, some meat slices and stiff croissants - we ended up buying breakfast elsewhere. Budget hotel for sure - would not recommend.

If it wasn't breakfast included I would put a 3. Everything was fine except the shower size is for extremely skinny people - I am not fat but did not fit in it and was very hard to take a shower. Everything else was basic - wardrobe, one chair, basic TV, smallest size 2 beds. The rest was fine

I recently had a 3 night stay at Domus Ciliota and found it to be excellent. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The room, although basic, was very clean and quiet. The buffet breakfast was extensive and always fresh. The location very central and close to a vaparetto stop and also a bridge over the grand canal. Furthermore it was close to a popular square with many restaurant/cafe options.

Loved the location and just a few minutes walk from San Samuel boat stop. Loved the courtyard inside the hotel. Breakfast is good. Very charming hotel though the room is dated but it's clean and spacious. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

Stayed over night to catch flight next day. Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities bedroom & bed very comfortable & good quality linen. very pleasant staff who were very helpful, even provided breakfast at 3:30am free before leaving for flight. Would absolutely recommend this hotel. 😊

Good breakfast.Although a variety of fruit would have made it ideal- not just apples and kiwi. Perhaps banana and peach too. Room clean comfortable, quiet and plenty of storage space.

Venice is a very confusing city to navigate. If you stay at Domus Ciliota, take the ferry from the airport to the S. Angelo dock. It’s about 5 minutes from the hotel. We made the mistake of getting off at the San Marco dock and it took us hours, dragging our luggage. When we left, we got a porter to take our luggage and it cost 25 Euro. The hotel will arrange a porter for you so you don’t get scammed. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The first thing we noticed was how clean the hotel was & smelled. I would recommend it to anyone.

Overall, not a great experience
I wouldn’t recommend staying here - realize it is a budget hotel. It wasn’t that much cheaper than others - so would recommend finding somewhere else. We booked a while ago, and couldn’t change. Key issues: The bathroom was not cleaned fully when we arrived (they did not clean behind the door at all); the service provided was bare minimum - don’t ask for anything other than what they already provided they will say no; the air conditioning didn’t work in the room so it was hot as we were in the 3rd floor; the bed was terrible - so firm. The good thing is the location - very convenient!

Comfortable accommodation in a very good location.
By no means a fancy hotel but for the budget solo traveller a comfortable and affordable accommodation. It is well located for most of Venice's attractions. Breakfast was very nice. Considering you are not likely to spend a lot of time in the hotel in Venice this is a great base

We would stay again! Met all our expectations. The only problem we encountered was not being able to take the water bus at our leaving early morning. The s. Samuele doesn’t run before 9:19am! We had to hire a costly water taxi instead to take us to the rail station. Our stay in Venice was delightful.
