“Valencia, Spain Best place to stay”
I thought this hotel was centrally placed within walking distance of a lot of major sites. From check-in to check-out the staff was helpful, courteous and attentive to our even whim. They even weighed our luggage for us to make sure we would not go over the airport limits.
“Great hotel and location”
I am very happy to have the opportunity to stay at the Astoria Palace. The location is really convenient and right in the city center. The LV and Loewe stores are just right behind the hotel - perfect for me. The hotel had been recently re-opened in 2011 after a refurbishment and the lobby looks grand and comfortable. I would definitely return for another stay anytime soon.
“good hotel - great location”
great location, walking distance to shopping and great food!
“Not a four star experience”
Hotel is rated a four stars and I am not sure why. The lobby and bar area are bright, clean and modern; our room was dark, dirty, and shabby. The rug was worn and dark red except in the corners where it was grey with dust and dirt. The bedside tables were relics from the 1940s marred with scratches and dings. In the internal bathroom there was a small rectangular window with a shutter that covered a vent holding pipes. Occasionally there would be loud noises sounding like a chain saw or banging coming from the vent. Additionally, our room was on the first floor and the window looked out onto a shaft. We were at the bottom of this shaft so no light could pentrate the gloom and we could hear the constant humming coming from the mechanisms stored there. Maybe other rooms are better cared for and deserving of four stars - ours was not. Positives: the staff were friendly and it is a good location.
“Ayre Astoria Palace Valencia”
Excellent Hotel. Hight recommended.
“Nina”
This hotel located in the center of the city, close to the attractions and transportation.
“Wonderful Stay!”
We chose Ayre Hotel Astoria Palace for it's Historic Center location, as it is a block away from many of the busy/noisy streets, just far enough to hear yourself think. We always read the Expedia reviews, which we found to provide a very good rating, as was our opinion too. The staff were all extremely wonderful and caring. You could tell that they were proud to be on the staff and had great respect for their hotel. The other guest were nice people too. They have a business center area to use their computers or just to quietly gather, another area to meet on the 2nd floor and a nice lounge. The public areas were spacious and comfortable. We're going back for an even longer stay!!!!!!!!
“excellent location, great value”
The hotel was located in the heart of Valencia and within walking distance of several major attractions. The room was quiet and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends who are interested in seeing the sights, not so much for those who want luxury.
“Puts you in the middle of alot”
I would recommend this hotel because you are in the middle of almost everything. You are extremely close to alot of restaraunts, equal distance to both a taxi stand and 2 underground metro stations. Within a 10-15 minute walking distance there is a train and main bus station. Be warned taxis have to go to taxi stands to pick up fairs in Valencia, and it is harder than you would expect to come across a metro (e.g. coming from the aquarium center). The underground metro is also really expensive approx. 2.50 euro per trip where-as in Madrid its approx 1 euro per destination. The hotel staff is extremely helpful, even willing to research times if you were to inquire about bus/train times. Do not be fooled by the names fo the different rooms. I can only speak for the 'deluxe' which was anything but. There is free wi-fi in the rooms you just need to get a password from the desk for every hour of use. Be warned these rooms are small, I paid for the deluxe and was suprised how tiny is was...but it was managable and very clean. I remeber the breakfast being really good, alot of choice and you can ask for hot plate breakfast items that are not out already. It is about a 5 minute walk to the main cathedral, I recommend you go at night when there are performers at the square and everyone is out have gellato & beer.
“Great location and service!”
My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Valencia! This was our honeymoon trip and we were certainly not disappointed by the city or this hotel, which was located perfectly in the older part of town. Lovely rooms and service. The only thing I would say was negative was the parking, which you will have to do at the expensive parking garage around the corner. No big deal, but something you should be prepared to spend 20 euros a day for.
