All around very good experience. I would have liked some other choice than a $10.95 buffet breakfast, but the room, cleaniness, service were all good.

Everything about this hotel was top notch, from the services all the way down to the cleanliness of the grounds! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through Suffolk VA. Spend the extra money because it is more than worth it for the quality of the rooms and the friendly staff!! My compliments to the Hilton Gardens Inn we will surely book our stays with this hotel again in the future.

“Great Stay”

Everything was great at this location. We only stayed ine night and just had a little problem getting the room temperature regulated. Staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. Hotel very clean. Go, Stay, Enjoy!!

“Easy, clean, convenient, nice town.”

Clean, new, excellent. Nice room. Refridg, microwave, coffee. Easy to get a cot. Only problem was beds are luxuriously soft doubles. Still, I would do it again instantly.

“Great deal on the price but at what cost”

This is a beautiful hotel that I got a realy great deal on! The rooms were very nice but one of the beds in our room was broken. they were nice and moved us to another room, eventhough this room was to be a non-smoking room the second we stepped in it smeeled as though someone had been chain smoking. We told the main desk and we got moved yet again. This next room was hot and the a/c took forever to work, but by then it was so late we just wanted to go to bed. The next day the a/c finally worked and everything was fine after that. This is a really great hotel and I hope it was just an off day that we went because the people were all nice and the hotel looked amazing.

“Great experience”

The hotel was an overall pleasant experience. The view from the back facing the river was just lovely. I also enjoyed the friendly staff at the restaurant as well. This hotel is a great addition to the Suffolk area.

“Beautifully Built/ Poorly Maintained”

During a three day stay, my room was cleaned and the beds made up twice. For the Sunday, the staff couldn't be bothered even though the room was free by noon. The large veranda overlooking the river was dirty most of the time. No one ever picks up drink glasses, empties ash trays, or spruces things up. I've stayed at this hotel many times; it is a beautiful property, but generally poorly maintained. I would recommend it since there is no other comparable in the area. But the first opportunity that another hotel of a similar standard is opened, you will definitely be losing another customer.

“Just average”

I felt the hotel was just average, particularly given the price. It has a nice view of the river and pretty grounds but could use some building upkeep outside and the indoor pool was freezing.

“Comfortable, Full service. Pricy”

I have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, Suffolk many times since it was brand new. The hotel's location is perfect for my business requirements. The Hilton's rooms are comfortable and clean. The lobby is nice, and the lobby bar and restaurant are great conveniences for travelers. Room amenities include refrigerator, coffee service, decent work desk, and a heating and cooling system that works well and keeps the room comfortable without being too noisy. The Hilton's prices, however, have steadily climbed and basic hotel services seem to have slipped at the same time. What once was a great value is now pricy for the area. During a recent stay the non-smoking room I had requested two weeks before arrival was not available at check-in. Some hotel chains are going totally non-smoking. Why not the more upscale Hilton? The wireless internet access was not working properly and I was unable to work in the evening. Finally, the 6:00AM wakeup call that I requested during check-in never came and I was late for a breakfast meeting. All things considered, I have had more good experiences than bad at the Hilton Garden Inn. But the last couple of visits have not been as pleasant, and the hotel accommodations are not as good as before. I think that for my next trip I will save some money and stay at a Chesapeake hotel where there are many better options for dining and entertainment. Overall, I would give this hotel an 8 for room accommodations, but only a 6 for value.
