“Excellent for family”
I am a single mother who took her 2 kids (age 13 &10) We felt very safe and comfortable. We liked that we had the choice of pool or beach (very nice beach). The hotel in located in the bay - so the water was relatively calm - water sports right on site. The hotel was very clean and well appointeted. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance (which was safe as well). It is a very quiet, relaxed hotel. When you want to get away to relax - this is the place to go. Most employees impressed us by remembering our names immediately and our likes and dislikes. The only "issue" we had was extremly slow service. Just plan ahead when you request anything. Met several new friends - it is a homey, family like atmosphere. Would absolutly go back again given the opportunity.
“'Lovely!'”
The hotel was amazing. The people are extremely polite and helpful and because there are 3 Rex hotels in a row(incl Royal) you can visit any of them as you like. Our room was very spacious and the maid visited 3 times a day!!! (possibly too much) They give you towels to use on the beach and having your own beach means that you don't have to worry about whether there'll be alounger for you as there were plenty to go round. Staff there are fab, especially Troy the barman who can make up pretty much any cocktail from the ingredients you want! We went for our honeymoon and don't think that the write up for the hotel does it justice. It's an excellent choice for any honeymooners (although we didn't get the wine or fruit that they promise when you book-not that that mattered).
“Honeymoon- June 2007”
We loved the Royal hotel. We've traveled all over the world, and it was one of the cleanest and friendlist we've ever visited. The front desk was always helpful and friendly- and great about scheduling vehicles and excursions. The food was good (through overpriced, though most of St Lucia is). Plus, we were across the road from a number of great restaurants and bars, including The Buzz and Memories of Hong Kong. Our room was cleaned twice a day, drinks were always yummy, and the food was cooked to perfection- though with a British twist. If we return to St Lucia, we'll definitely stay at a Rex Resort, and probably the Royal hotel.
“Wonderful Experience”
The hotel was beautiful and on one of the best beaches in St. Lucia! When we first arrived and were shown our room, it was covered with fresh rose petals-so romantic! The pool was great, as was the beach. Everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful. Additional eateries were located nearby within walking distance.
“The Best of St Lucia”
We found this hotel to be a most fantastic place to stay for a holiday. The rooms were perfect and kept wonderfully clean and well equipped. All the staff were kind, friendly and helpful. The food was lovely. The pool and beach were clean and beach/pool beds were always available. The hotel is in a great position and central to lots of restaurants and night life in Rodney Bay. We would have no hesitation in returning.
“Very good value”
We stayed a week in May. The Rex was excellent, the rooms were in fact a suit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They remembered our names. They provide you with clean towels twice a day, robes in the room and they served fruit on the beach around 3:30. There was no extra charge for towels or beach huts and there were plenty. We ate breakfast at the Hotel using their meal plan, fresh fruit daily and a good value for your money.
“Will deifinately go back!”
Just returned on the 23rd December 2007 after spending a fabulous 10 nights at the rex. This hotel has one of the best beach locations in St Lucia. There are many restaurants and supermarkets all withing walking distance. We found that the food was a little pricey at the hotel, so we opted to eat outside at the local cafes and restaurants all within easy reach. I must say that this hotel is the better of the three hotels that are located on this beach. The bedrooms and bathrooms could do with a little updating as they were a bit on the tired side. The only real downside is that the beach is public and anyone can go on there and play music really loud!PS. Everyone was so friendly!
“On one of the best beaches on the island”
The rooms are all suits with a bedroom and large attached bath and a sitting room with sofa and TV.Balcony overlooking the garden and swimming pool with the sea beyond a short wall.Good service on the beach for food and drinks and also a small sit down area for lunch and snacks.Plenty of beach lounge chairs and shade.oppertunities for beach activities
“Amasing experience”
Very friendly staff clean and pleasant suroundings excelent beach deservedly award winning restaurant would definately revisit
“Would definitely recommend”
I would defintely recommend this hotel. It is located on the beach. You can walk out of your hotel room and directly to the beach. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I thought it was a nice touch, when they brought us complimentary fresh fruit sorbets while we were lying on the beach. Nice touches like this make me want to return.
