We booked this room primarily due to the price. We found the room to be equal to many other rooms on this trip that cost much more. It was quiet, clean, spacious and the mattress was firm.

Clean modern building, easy walk from rail station or plenty of parking. Also short walk from town centre. Good sized room, feels a bit bare but sufficient in way of hanging space, work surface, place to put suitcase etc. Soap dispenser at shower but not at basin. Rather flimsy plastic glass (in sealed plastic), doubtless with corona in mind. Rooms arranged in staggered pattern on two levels round small courtyard (All facing forward:rail line immediately at back.) - ask for ground floor if have mobility difficulties as upper level reached by external staircase. Office closed between 10am and 2pm and late evening - can check in outside hours if get in touch to get pin number. Good price, would happily use again.

Zesty Soest Motel
The check in is automated but effective and when i rang the info-line I got through the someone straight away. Location is near enough as the town is small. 10 min walk from train station and shops or into town centre. Room was fresh and clean. There are curtains and shutters but with shutters down it felt a little boxed in, I was in the room at the very front and so if I didn’t have the shutter down it was clear visible into the room. Thicker curtains would be great. Other than this... perfect!

Great place to stay at a great price
Great place with amazing staff at a very good price. Very clean and comfortable. The air circulator unfortunately made a slight humming noise when on - the only slight issue in an otherwise great stay!

Great budget hotel
Great stay at this budget hotel. Great powerful shower and good sized clean room. We had been visiting the Mohne Dam and this was only a few minutes drive away and close to autobahn access the next day.

A Little Breakaway
We decided to take a little trip to Soest in Germany to visit our daughter who is working out there. We was recommended the City Motel as it was close to the town (I have a problem with my knee) and was in walking distance from the town centre. It took me approximately ten minutes walk into the town and it is all on the level. The hotel was cleaned and towels changed on a daily basis. The staff were very friendly and helpful and speak good English. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a very good reasonable stay. Doesn't have a restaurant but as we stayed in an apartment so we were able to take in basic food to cook ,make sandwiches and a hot drink ( no kettle though so had to boil water in a pan). Lovely walk in shower with constant hot water. There is a very nice café/ restaurant at the hospital just across the road with an excellent variety of food and discount for guests of City Motel. Will certainly go back to this motel again. The only downside to this hotel was lack of kettle for making drinks but there is a kiosk downstairs which you can use to obtain drinks and snacks.

Ideally positioned to break up a long journey
We were travelling to Eastern Germany and knew that it would be hard going from Calais to Dortmund, in fact it worked out to be even more difficult than expected, far more lorries heading that way, roadworks and general traffic plus the fact that there isn't one motorway but a constant zigzag from one to another. So to get off the motorway and discover our motel was easy to find, it was very easy to use the automated check in, the room was clean and comfortable and the motel seemed well covered with security cameras was a real boost. A short walk into Soest and we were spoilt for eating places and a few beers. Back to the motel, showered a good nights sleep meant we were refreshed for the next leg of our journey. In fact we were so impressed with our stay at CityMotel Soest that instead of making the return journey back to Calais from Eastern Germany in one go we decided to book ourselves another stay!

Its basic comfy and very clean There is no personal service though we were shown an apartment as we would stay there again and they are more then use full the noise at night from other guests coming in on our last of 3 nights was not a good situation as we were not able to sleep but the price was really good it would be nice if there was tea /coffee facilities in the room instead of vending machines but other then that no problems

Overall a great stay, with a short walk into the town. The room itself was very comforfable and clean , however it was classed as an apartment but was not supplied with a kettle or a toaster which wold have been really useful as we were there for 3 days .the check in and vending machine area is a great idea, we have never come accross this before, so easy! We would definitely stay there again .

Soest is an absolutely lovely older walled City. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Location is extremely good- three blocks from the train station. Hotel staff was wonderful and helpful when they were asked anything. Hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Stayed there on the 21st of June 2013, the windows can't be opened on the ground floor, maybe the same for 1st floor as well. As the temperature had been very hot for days outside, the rooms were unbearably hot making sleep next to impossible. There is a heat recovery fan system in each room which is of no use whatsoever.

No Nonsense
Absolutely clean. There was a nice shower instead of an old bathtub. The shower drained beautifully. There was a nice machine nearby that dispensed great coffee. I loved the simplicity and convenience of it all.

new fresh and great value for money
this place was so new that no maintenance was needed. There is an out of hours check in/out service - touch screen machine. Really efficient. All you need is your surname and a payment card. Rooms are large and bathrooms are well laid out. Water is nice and hot. Also flat screen TVs in the room give it a modern feel. Soest is a lovely town with some quirky and wonky architecture. Deffinitely worth a visit.

Gut und günstig
Einfacher check-in per Automat. Kein check-out erforderlich, einfach Karte in Briefkasten werfen. Zimmer Nummer 6 ist zum Parkplatz hin gelegen, es fahren häufiger Autos hin und her, die man auch hört. Beim nächsten Mal versuchen wir, ein Zimmer zum Innenhof zu kriegen.

Schöne Anlage...ich weiß noch nicht ob ich es gut ist keinen Kontakt zu haben. Weder beim Check in noch beim Check out...ansonsten ein funktionelles Hotel ohne Highlights... wfr es einfach mag ist hier genau richtig. Die Matratzen sollten dringend erneuert werden...

Ich war jetzt hier schön des öfteren und wie immer hat alles gepasst, freundliches Personal, schneller und guter CheckIn, das Zimmer ist schön geräumig, hell und sauber, die Mini Küche ist auch super, es ist ruhig und Parkplatzprobleme gibt es auch nicht, interessant ist das man sein Fahrrad hier gut abstellen kann...ein abgeschlossener Aussenraum...toll, werde wieder kommen...Danke 👍

Zu empfehlen - "mehr Hotel ist nicht notwendig'''
Gern buchen wir, gebürtige Soester, diese Unterkunft immer mal wieder im Rahmen eines Besuches der "alten Heimat". Dies, da nach unserer Erfahrung und Einschätzung, für einen derartigen Aufenthalt wir "mehr Hotel" nicht benötigen und dann das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis gut ist. Dies vor dem Hintergrund das Motel gut geführt wird, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit ist, die Zimmer und die Hotelanlage modern, sauber und insgesamt einen guten Eindruck machen. Das Ganze vor dem Hintergrund, man dann nicht bei der Verwandtschaft um Unterkuft mit den damit verbundenen Einschränkungen, bitten muss.
