“3 Days in Singapore”

Good value for mony. Not the best hotel but will do when you do not have to stay in your room for long time. Very helpful staff

“Not Impressed At All”

We chose this hotel for a 1-1/2 day stay prior to flying out of Singapore Changi Airport. It was one of the mid-range priced hotels that would accommodate three in a room. I specifically asked for a double and twin bed and was given 2 twin beds + a brought-in roll-away twin that took up all the open space in the room. Besides that, there was only a mirror in the bathroom and a small mirror above, and I mean very high, the coffee center. One would have to climb up onto the coffee center to use it. With three people in the room, it was very inconvenient getting ready without a usable mirror outside the bathroom. The downstairs front desk staff seemed indifferent. Yes, the price was in our range, but I really expected a little better after I read all the reviews prior to booking.

“Great River View”

Hotel room was spacious. Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom. Location was inconvenience, was not close to MTR stations or convenience store nearby. Great hotel facility: pool and gym. Air-con was a bit loud. But overall satisfied.

“Average Hotel in Decent Location”

Room was clean, air conditioning worked, and we had a nice view. The bathroom looked like it was updated, but the bedroom section did not (except for flat screen TV). Room was on smaller size, ok for two people but not any more. Door was knocked on several times in the morning: for laundry, for mini bar, and for room cleaning. Surely, they could do it all at once? Internet was expensive, and only one device could use the service at a time. Food was average and expensive. I would recommend getting breakfast and free wifi at the many cafe's across the river. Location was close to everything but convenient to nothing (if that makes any sense). Was expecting terrible service, but really it was ok. I wouldn't mind staying here again, but for the price, I would probably opt to check out other places first.

“Great Singapore hotel”

Older hotel - opened in 1985, but well maintained and with some original staff still there - a sign that staff are happy and reflected in their helpful service and happy smiles. Cafe on the riverfront very pleasant. and continental or buffet breakfast choice was excellent. Our room - 10th floor was great overlooked the street. Good location - right on bus stop and hotel shuttle service was handy. Small pool but well maintained. Would definitely stay there again. Despite the pressures of handling Formula One Grand Prix bookings, the staff were most professional and we thoroughly enjoyed our four days there

Area recommendations

Chinatown and market grat for gift shopping - we bought mahjong sets there. Marina Bay Sands complex - go to Ku De Ta bar on 57th floor if you are nicely dressed the security should allow you to enter but be prepared to pay around $20 for a drink - but it comes with the best view of Singapore specially at twilight

I highly recommend the area of Clark Quay, where you can find all needs at hands or at walking distance. Good dinner places, entertainment and shopping.

“Reasonable on the river”

For the most part, the hotel was fine. However, there was mold in the grout, bathroom was small and there was not a lot of room to move or work in the room. Despite that, it served the need for a weary traveler. The pool was particularly nice. Note, it is a particular pet peave of mine that I need to pay for internet service, which seem to be the norm in Singapore.
