“Value in a good location”

For me this hotel provided perfect location for a nearby business meeting at a relatively reasonable cost. The staff at all levels were friendly and helpful. The bird songs in the lobby are soothing.

“Excellent hotel and will go back.”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Marina Mandarin and will definitely stay there again. I only have 2 complaints - firstly being hit for $200 on arrival in case I should use the minibar. This is the most I have been charged anywhere I have travelled in the world, and I have not been charged any amount at all up front in a significant number of hotels. This is especially not a good introduction to the hotel when you are arriving late at night from a long flight. Secondly - as another guest said to me as well - you can wait ages for a lift to arrive to take you down to breakfast on the 4th floor or up to your room etc etc.

Area recommendations
The area around the marina is good because there are a variety of shops (including some more expensive as well as world wide ones such as, Zara) plus a food hall.

“Return Visit”

This was my third visit to this Hotel, last being in 2008. Choice of Hotel was made due to excellent experiences on the previous visits, the rate - in comparison to others in the area, and the location. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The room, although clean, was in desperate need of an update, grouting in the bathroom and carpet have seen better days. Pool area is excellent to relax and take a dip-not crowded at any time we were there. We did not eat at the Hotel at all but Happy Hour drinks on arrival were enjoyable to get the feel of the Hotel. Free internet daily was a bonus.

Area recommendations
Easy walking distance to Singapore Flyer, River front walk to Merlion and then along to Boat Quay for Chili crab-although not as good as I remembered from previous visit but there are a lot of places to eat at. Singapore Flyer short walk away, same with Marina Bay Sands-be aware Sin$20. to go up for the view and you can only access one small area, they do have tours on a first in basis. Tried the Casino but were refused entry as we did not have our passports on us at the time-didn't bother to go back. River cruise
Getting around
MRT is very easy to use and cheap - don't forget to get Sin$1. back on your used ticket at the ticket box!
Must see
Singapore Zoo for breakfast - no need to do a tour as Taxi is inexpensive and you are ahead of the tourist groups- be there by 09:00- and you can leave when you want.
Shopping
Marina/Raffles/Suntec shopping centres all linked. Bugis Street has a great department store and market place. MRT to Orchard Road with shopping from one end to the other.
Dining
The Ritz-Carlton : Sunday Vintage Moet Brunch in the Greenhouse. A must for special occasions- third visit did not dissappoint and as a treat for family member first time visit could not believe how fantastic it was. Bookings recommended. Raffles Hotel - Long Bar - for a Singapore Sling and a snack.
Family-friendly activities
Santosa Island relaxed lunch by the beach. Universal Studio was very much aimed at the young family market.

“"great location"”

Very friendly and helpful staff and the location of the hotel was exellent in the Marina district with direct access to the marina shopping complex. We found the drinks and food extremely expensive in the hotel and although they provided a lovely atomosphere with music and a singer the prices meant that we limited our time at the bar area.

“Good Value”

Stayed at the hotel as a 'stop-over' on way home from Europe. Impressed by the professional, friendly staff who were always keen to assist. Appreciated that we were allowed early access to room after overnight flght from Paris & the ability to extend check-out till 6 pm at a modest cost.. Not the newest hotel in Singapore, but facilities still hold up very well - comfortable, good sized rooms & all required facilities at a reasonable price. The breakfast (and food/drink generally) was considered to be expensive and we ate at surrounding restaurants or one of the several adjoining mega malls A comfortable, well priced hotel with excellent staff..

Area recommendations
Marina Bay area is well serviced by MRT & has many attractions nearby - Singapore Flyer, Marina Sands Casino complex, Raffles Hotel, Boat Quay + Suntec City & Marina Bay Shopping complexes.

“Impressive hotel but expensive wifi”

We enjoyed our two nights in the Marina Mandarin. The spectacular atrium is a sight to behold. Spacious room with probably the best bathroom of any hotel we had previously stayed in. A couple of minor quibbles on arrival - door to balcony could not be secured and tv didn't work. However both these were immediately dealt with and resolved after a phone call to service desk. Wifi expensive in room, S$30/day or S$10 for 1 hour. However can be obtained at no charge in lounge/bar area with purchase of, albeit expensive, drink or bar snack. Also didn't like the caged birds spread around atrium on about the 4th level during each day. May have provided some local flavor but seemed cruel to us for birds to be caged in this manner. Very conveniently located next to major shopping centre where you can eat at significantly lower cost than at hotel if you wish

Area recommendations
Botanical gardens, in particular the national orchard garden which is excellent.

“Will Return”

Friendly staff, quick check in and out, well serviced, close to shopping centre, close to two train stations. Meals expensive but you can eat nearby. Clean pool area with good service.

Area recommendations
Must go to Mustafa Centre for great bargain shopping, Marina area is great. Singapore Zoo and Orchid garden.
Getting around
Taxi are cheap, MTR is easy to navigate, tourist buses are interesting and your feet are one of the best ways to get around.
