“outside looks are not everything”
Arriving was greeted by a helpful porter, reception checking in started with SORRY SIR we only have a room with two single beds. On not being happy the girl went off and came back to say she has a room in the main wing thats ok I said, on going to floor 12 a smell of cigarette smoking was in the passage we asked for a non smoking room in booking.
After the bags came we went to reception and saw a lady named ROCHELLE and told her of the smell, she said come back tmrw after 2pm and I will change your room. Well going to reception at 2.10pm ROCHELLE was hv a 30min break, so we came back again at 3pm.
She was busy with other customers and said wait for 10 mins, then she took us to the 12th flr in orchid wing.
The room was bigger and we moved there no smell of smoking, on waiting and waiting for our luggage to come from the other room we went to reception and told them then we left and went for dinner.
Next day on opening the curtains we found the wallpaper was falling off the wall and also water stains on other parts so I took photos so we dont get the blame for that, also returning back to the room later in afternoon a friendly COCKCROACH was on the wall in the passage so I squashed it with my foot, this you can see on security footage if they want to look for that part. the rest of our stay was ok until we went past the reception to the mandarin gallery then I noticed the fire door being held open with some thin rope. dont be fooled by the name the star rating should be 3.
Getting around
Getting around singapore should be a easy thing to do, we found it hard to find the tourist office.
No maps etc in the hotel.
The hop on/off bus is best to see singapore for the first time, at $sg 6.00 each for all day with singapore airlines boarding pass or $sg 12.00 without pass.
There are plenty of asian food courts check them out first before making your mind up. and they are always in the basement floors. enjoy your trip.
