“Pleasantly Surprised, For the Most Part”

Built in 1561, this place exudes charm and history. Rooms are stunning and all are different. We arrived on a very hot day (101 degrees) and all the rooms were open to 'air' out so we checked out most of them. Had a two story room. Bathrooms are super. Again, keep in mind this place is OLD so there will be some not so fresh looking aspects of the rooms. Pool is small but really nice and tranquil, especially when the air temps are so hot! Only downsides were the AC did not work and a tour group who had dinner in the inner courtyard was noisy until 2:30 am. Super location in Carmona. Good parking lot if you have a car. Overall, the charm of this place trumps any of the negative aspects we experienced (mainly not having ac in what is called the 'frying pan' region of Spain). I would stay there again!

Area recommendations

Carmona is a clean, charming, small town very close to Seville and the airport (super easy drive to the main road to the airport from the hotel). We stayed at the hotel the night before our flight back to the US (from hotel door to airport door it took us about 30 minutes with a stop for gas and rental car rental). Good restaurants, nice streets to walk around. Not as touristy as we thought, which was good.
