“small, but does the trick”
Don't expect anything fancy, but this place is nice. It has a nice charm of a small hotel, and it is close to the Malecon (downtown area) The rooms are basic and small, but have a balcony. There is a nice place to eat, a beach and pool.
“Good hotel, especially for the price”
Overall the hotel was very nice...the only problem that we had with it was that our air conditioning didn't work very well, but they did provide us with a fan so it wasn't completely unbearable. The staff was especially friendly and helpful.
“El Pescador”
Great service; great food; the only complaint is the beds were not comfortable nor were the pillows.
“Comfortable and Easy Access”
The hotel was very comfortable with very friendly staff. Everyone there made us feel very welcome and safe. There is a policy to not let anyone not checked into the hotel into the rooms, which is a very good security factor. Even though we had a streetside room, it was very quiet and the quick walk to the Malecon and the fun happening downtown made the Pescador perfect for us. Why pay for cabs when you can make it just as easy to walk? I will definitely be back.
“does the job”
the hotel is nothing special but was a good place to stay. its location was close to everywhere you want to go. definatly reccommend. only thing is the beds are hard.
“madpark”
Very practical place to stay. Close to boardwalk and shopping. Supermarket across the street.is excellent. Be sure to get a Ocean view room! The staff is great and speaks English well. Nice hot breakfast every morning. Be sure get the water taxi to the other beaches. very cold A/C TV and purified drinking water bottles on every floor. Book ahead for great prices. We eat at ther restaurant and food was good and cheap. Very spacious place and nice if you don't want to deal with the city streets and chose to just stay by the pool or balcony for the day.
“No American Breakfast”
Our stay included an "American" breakfast. Well, I don't know about most people, but refried beans (everyday), potatoes w/"sausage" (really looked and tasted like hot dogs), and "french toast" (that was just warmed up bread with cinnamon on it) is not my idea of an American breakfast. There was no fresh fruit or toast (bread was offered but not toasted) and the eggs were barely tolerable (lukewarm and usually had Mexican seasoning of some sort or another) when they were available. The pancakes were good (when available) and the coffee was tolerable. Other than the breakfast this older hotel has a lot going for it. It is located right on the beach and it is clean and comfortable. It is located close to everything and we walked everywhere. We definitely would stay again, but would skip breakfast.
“The real Puerto Vallarta”
This hotel is simple, even bare. The sound of the waves resounds on the concrete walls. It doesn't try to impress the tourist. But the beds are good and the breakfast is pleasant. and you can get the service you want.
“I will definatley stay here again!”
The hotel was clean, the service was great and it was very close to entertainment and attractions.
“Great deal for the price”
I will stay here again, the hotel was very clean, the maid service was excellent. The pool area was somewhat crowded on the weekend, and the weekend breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant was the deal of the week, with live entertainment. The staff was courteous at all times, the location of the hotel is close to everything. I had a wonderful time. The mattress were a litte hard but ok, for the price I give El Pescador 5 stars.
