“Far exceeded my expectations!”

The Chalet View far exceeded our expectations. We were extremely happy with our stay. Rooms were fantastic, hotel staff was extremely pleasant and all of our requirements were met. We are already trying to find a reason to go back and stay soon!

“A perfect place to stay”

This is a lovely hotel/motel. We had a room with two double beds, one on a mezzanine level, which was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful. There was a nice breakfast, and they also have a Starbucks on site. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and was a perfect base for us as we travelled between Lake Tahoe and the Lassen volcanic park ( which is well worth a visit). The most pleasant surprise was the truly wonderful restaurant on site. The menu was very interesting and the food was absolutely top-drawer - fresh, tasty, beautifully presented and delicious. A perfect place to stay.

“Really nice place.”

Staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is OK. The coffee is great. The structure and rooms are beautiful, and there is a variety of activities on the grounds. Be aware that the Fitness facility is a neighboring business, and guests must pay $7 to use it.

“Thanksgiving 2011 at Chalet View Lodge”

The facilities are very good considering the rural area that this facility resides. The dining area has been relocated to the bar area near the fireplace which probably makes sense. However, this has caused the relaxation of the more comfortable seating arrangements (sofa and chairs) to be moved where the dining area used to be, so no fireplace or bar. But the Chalet is small enough that the extremely short walk to the bar is not a problem for refills but it was nice to be able to relax near the fire. The 2 bed unit was very clean. Only wish that sitting chairs were available in the room for more people to sit and enjoy the one tv in the suite. The Chalet is pet friendly which made it nice to bring our 2 small dogs along. The small pet fee is what one would pay a pet sitter to leave the animals at home. Our bartender for the evening was a County Supervisor filling in as a friend to the owners since they were short handed on Thanksgiving night. It was quite the evening with the hostess constantly reminding him to not talk politics. Looking forward to returning to the Chalet either winter or summer with some hopeful golf packages made available by then through suggestions by yours truly.

“This is a much nicer hotel than others in the area”

I was in the area for a destination wedding, and I was very glad that I was staying at this hotel after seeing some of the others in the area which looked old and tired.

“Family Resort Atmosphere”

Rustic cabin was exactly as advertised. Local management is very professional. There is a small kitchen however no indoor dining table & chairs. Bathroom is small but adequate with a noticeable layer of dust. Location is very quiet. The free 6 hole golf course was relaxing and fun although the course fairways and greens need some additional TLC. This is a place where I would take my grandchildren to play golf or try fishing in the private pond. More formal options for recreation are available at a variety of levels throughout the immediate area. The restaurant/bar was excellent with a delightful menu. The pool and hot tub were wonderful, clean and relaxing. The outdoor patio is nicely arranged with a wood fire place and separate wood fire grill for fresh gourmet pizza. There is a nice library to relax indoors and good Starbucks snack offerings throughout the day. I would describe this as a full service mini-resort where one could relax comfortably for days and forget the car keys. Or one could rent a bike for $10 a day and reach several amenities within a 5 mile radius.
