Lovely cabin!
What a wonderful place to stay! With family living in Pine Valley, this is a great rental to be able to use when we have visitors come to town. The cabin is very well equipped and cozy.

Such a nice getaway!
We stayed here for a multigenerational family long weekend retreat. It was lovely! Clean, very well appointed, easy parking, nice backyard. The kids enjoyed plenty of outdoor and indoor time together. Adults loved the convenience of nice kitchen and bedrooms. This property is a bargain!

Pine Valley
This log cabin was beautiful and I’d stay here again. It was so peaceful. I walked down the road and went for a short hike into the mountains and saw a lot of wild flowers. The upstairs bedroom on the right and the ground level bedroom need the ceiling fans repaired. There are no separate chains for the fans and it gets warm in there during the day. Either the door locks or the keys should be replaced, they’re a little difficult. Other than those two things, everything was perfect. Much thanks to Michele and Flip for sharing your cabin.

Rustic Peace
I was anticipating this out-of-town trip for some time. It had been over 3 years (pre-COVID) since I was able to take a break from normal family life and enjoy nature without kids in tow 😊. I was not disappointed in the least with my stay in The Cabin. It’s in a rustic setting which is what I was needing. The setting is very private. The wood burning stove is nostalgic and wonderful. The downstairs bed was very comfortable. The deck area was perfect for hanging out and listening to the bountiful sounds of nature. And there were many hiking trails close-by. I’d recommend the Kitchen Table trail (easy 4 mile out and back with a small waterfall at the turning point). I anticipate requesting to stay again in the future—a great experience!

Beautiful, cozy mountain home!
We had such a great time here! The house was immaculate and the owners had thoughtfully provided oodles of conveniences… from toiletries to paper towels, firewood and starter! The backyard is stunning - we felt as though we had the entire oak forest to ourselves! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Easy, relaxing getaway from the city
Loved staying at this remote little piece of Heaven. Back porch is an amazingly easy way to take in all of God’s flying creatures, within the comfort and warmth of the cabin. Property management, was on call for any of my needs. Cabin was really cozy and rustic, but with so many cute and personal touches to it, I almost had myself convinced it was “ours” and we were out there for a long weekend, just as we would every week. Such a nice respite from the craziness of city life. Thank you for sharing it!

The Pine Valley Cabin
A beautifully-renovated cozy cabin! Lovely inside, lovely surroundings outside. Wildlife was present. The setting was serene and quiet. Marvelous hiking trails nearby, and the dark sky. Temperatures were chilly, which gave us a great excuse to use the large fireplace (they provided the wood and kindling!) We'll be there again for sure.

Stay for USMC graduation
From beginning to end this was a wonderful experience. We had no issues with anything. Myself, my husband and our daughter stayed here to attend our sons USMC graduation in San Diego. We do not enjoy cities or crowds so this was close enough to attend celebrations and still be in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The house is extremely charming,, quiet, clean and easy to commute to SamDiego. We would stay again if we ever return to CA. Thank you! Becky and Jason

Labor Day Retreat!!
It’s a wonderful cabin . The manager is wonderful . The cabin has everything you need .It’s like being at home . Loved seeing the birds, too bad it was a very hot weekend. The blackout was terrible.. Our family plans on renting this cabin again.

I was absolutely shocked and amazed by how beautiful the property was. The amount of love and care that the owner put into their home was evident in every inch. This home is well kept and well furnished with a responsive property manager. It’s a bit hard to find and the road is not paved, but worth the effort for a nice rural vacation stay. Lots of birds, good WiFi, very comfortable.

Cozy cabin on large lot filled with trees and birds, a terrific escape from the city--also cool, at about 4,000 feet. Plenty of porches and chairs to sit outside and listen to the wind; numerous trailheads nearby, also lakes and parks.

Near several PCT access points
It has lots of antiques from early USA pioneer days. Very unique. Uses a wood burning stove for heat plus portable heaters. Since we were usually in a hurry, the portable heaters worked best for us. Very quiet, woodsy neighborhood. Lovely yard to relax in. Chose this location because we wanted to day hike on the PCT from as many access points as possible in this area. From here it was easy to access TH's from Campo to Laguna Mountains.

Pacefull and relaxing
This is like the fourth time we come to this place and the experience just keeps getting better. We love that it is very close to San Diego and there is also a market 3 minutes from the place where we can find everything. We enjoyed a few nights with a warm atmosphere, thanks to the wood stove and fireplace, also the bedrooms with their portable heaters were of great help, the children had enough space to play in the green areas. The area of the cabin was very well equipped, the television is not complicated to use and it does not have so many controls that can make the search for entertainment difficult. this place is very nice, clean and spacious. Thanks to Michele, for always being attentive to all our needs and for her good availability. I take this opportunity to thank you for your fine attention We will surely be back soon.

Best experience ever
When we arrived we were amazed at the detail and decorations the cabin had when we entered, the cabin had everything we needed to kitchen utilities , movies and all restrooms utility’s, we spent the nights by the fire and wood stove witch was a delight, my family loved the stay and enjoyed exploring the property as it has a quite big yard. We are certainly looking forward to rentiing again. We had a blast!

ENJOYED OUR SHORT GETAWAY
The cabin was cute and quaint. The view from the sunroom was wonderful. There isn't a way to hook up a Roku or game system (e.g., WII) to the TV's (no outlets) so leave those at home and enjoy the endless number of games at the cabin. We played some we've never played before. Great fun! There aren't other cabins really nearby so you may feel isolated if you are used to having neighbors.

A place for decompression
The cabin is well stocked with kitchen and bathroom items, wood and blankets. Importantly, there is permission to rest and rejuvinate, to learn the fine art of just being. We love coming here, it is such a true blessing.

In addition to lovely setting, the lessors have thought of everything to make you comfortable. Such as toiletries you forgot. And a comprehensive guide book to get oriented in Pine Valley. We had a great time.

Perfect for our family
The cutest property we have stayed at. My girls where so excited to see every part of the house. The 3 bedrooms were spacious and the back yard was big. We didn’t expect it to be so cold but thankfully they had heaters in each room and in the bathroom with the shower so we weren’t bothered. The fire stove was great to heat up the living room and the girls loved that we had a fire going. Thank you!

Very well-stocked, cute home with many, many amenities. AC only in one upstairs bedroom, so that made our July stay a bit tricky with the inside temps, but we managed with recs from the very-responsive owner and her local daughter. I bet it would be perfect in the fall/winter, however! Convenient nearby small grocery, convenient to interstate and to beautiful local nearby hikes. Fun, fenced in back yard and lots of wildlife. Surrounding neighborhood was a little rough-appearing, but nothing concrete to say it was unsafe. Overall a very nice stay.

4th of July Weekend
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin over 4th of July weekend! We were able to hike and walk around the town and then go into Alpine for some fireworks! We appreciate the hospitality of the owners and the property manager. We can't wait to visit again.

Our family really enjoyed the stay at the cabin. Lots of open communication with the owner ahead of time, easy check in/out, Well stocked kitchen, all the comforts of home. Loved the fireplace and wood stove being prepped for use on arrival, and the little space heaters were surprisingly efficient to keep us all toasty at night.

Peaceful Retreat with Excellent Hosts
Our stay at this log cabin was wonderful. The hosts were communicative and provided practically everything we needed to enjoy our weekend vacation in Pine Valley and surrounding areas. Tips on starting fires in the wood stove, handmade fire starters, plenty of firewood, etc. were very much appreciated. The kitchen is stocked with tons of pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, etc. The gracious hosts provided everything you could possibly need including clean bed linens, towels, toiletries (in case you forgot to pack an item), extra blankets, room heaters, etc. Best of all for our children ages 3 through 8 were the multitude of board games and other activities provided. Because it was raining throughout most of our visit, these were perfect at keeping the kids entertained during our entire visit. Not once were the words "I'm bored" uttered, it was truly amazing! We were also able to visit nearby Julian, which was a bonus, and come back to the cabin to enjoy our freshly purchased apple pie . Our only regret was that we did not get to enjoy the deck due to the consistent rainfall, but all that means is that we will have to plan a visit sometime again in the future!

Very thoughtful Hosts!
My friends and I rented this cabin last minute due to changes in our plans caused by the wild fires. We honestly weren’t expecting much but boy were we surprised. You can tell that the hosts are very thoughtful people. Once you’re in the cabin, you won’t have any questions as everything is incredibly well laid and and there are tiny little notes all over the place explaining anything you might be curious about. They also have a ton of extra items that aren’t necessarily available at most places. I rented quite a few places over the years on this and the other site and I think this cabin felt the most welcoming. The pictures don’t do it justice. It is much nicer and cozier than you looks on the site. Highly recommended.

Summer retreat
The cabin was a great escape from our hot summer days at home. Pine Valley is the perfect location for going hiking, seeing wildlife, and a quick drive to San Diego. The management is easy to work with too! We had a great stay at the cabin!
