“Gubbio”

I love Gubbio and this is a great place to stay, though it's tricky getting to it. Reservation should include driving instructions & map through the streets of Gubbio. I knew where the hotel was, but not how to drive there, so walked up, up, up to the hotel (in the rain), got the instructions and walked back to the car. You then park in a public lot. But this is a beautiful medieval city and worth the effort. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Charming breakfast room with delicious choices. Short walk to Taverna del Lupo. I wish I was still there.

“good 3 star hotel”

Once we had found the hotel ( very difficult) we enjoyed our 4 night stay......despite the builders working very close on the roof of the ensuite showroom ( we had to drape a towel on the window). The hotel was well located for walks around Gubbio, lovely medieval hill town.. Breakfast was standard italian. You appear to need to pay 4 star hotel prices to get fruit or boiled eggs. Eating costs in Gubbio were very high especially at the 2 restaurants owned by the hotel group so beware.!
