“Clarion Hotel Review- Hamden, CT”

Hotel newly built, last year although rooms are missing a few finishing touches. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Room was neat and comfortable. Front desk staff helpful. For those desiring fort knonx level security, doors on individual rooms seemed smaller than their frames and security bars were not securely screwed in. But, all rooms have internal entrances.

“Good for overnight stay”

This is a convenient Hotel of CT 15 HWY. Good for overnight stay. Room service was quick, chaotic since the food is from the restaurant that is detached from the Hotel. Poor Wi-Fi connectivity. No wired connection.

“Hotel is ok, But, improvements needed...soon!”

The lobby looked in good condition. However, upon entering the room, it became clear that money is not being spent for upkeep. The wallpaper was dirty and peeling, the rug and curtains had stains, and the balcony to the room was in poor condition. And although the bed sheets looked clean, there were cookie crumbs beneath them and under the mattress. Yes - it all made me check for bedbugs... none found, thank goodness! The bathroom was clean and the shower had very good pressure (the showerhead was new and had different modes of water delivery). AC/heater also worked well. No complimentary breakfast. Bottom line: hotel should spend some money and update the rooms!

“Not As Good As Before”

Temperature controls did not work correctly, so room alternated between too hot and too cold. In addition, room lacked the counter outside the bathroom that we found so handy in our previous stay. Disappointed that I had to pay for morning coffee in the lounge, but staff did give me extra (free) coffee packets for the room.

“Close to family, but nothing to repeat”

The hotel is located one mile from my sister's home and fit the area well. The staff was pleasant and the hotel was older but fine. The room has the older style curtains that cover a glass window, which felt like someone could break in at any time. The room opened to a hallway that was suspended above the floor below. The hallway was tilted due to age. The bed was fairly comfortable but when you lay on it, the nice flat screen tv postioned flat on a desk at the end of the room was difficult to see due to how low the table height was. Not terribly impressive, but fit our needs fine.

“Not great”

Our hotel room had a window facing the hallway. The bathroom had cheap written all over it - a towel rack in the shower, a fan that was cut into the wall, and a bad paint job. The towels also didn't absorb water. The walls were also very thin - I could hear the television in the rooms around us clearly.
