"Garden Hill Retreat is truly the hidden gem with magnificent and magical gardens and a wonderful well-appointed sandstone cottage with a wood-burning stove. The cottage is serene and sublime. It overlooks the beautiful veggie garden, rose garden, Mediterranean garden and lotus pond. There are wonderful features: croquet lawn, tennis courts and an indoor swimming pool to enjoy. "The house is nicely laid out with tasteful pictures on the walls. Well appointed with nice products - hand wash, body wash etc. Kitchen is reasonably well stocked. Good use of small space. It would be nice if there were some clothes storage space in the bunk room. Beach is beautiful and only a short walk away. I suggest you take most of your meals at the house."

"The place took me back to younger years as a teenager, when my parents would rent a house near the beach. The renovations were great. Fully stocked with everything you needed. Thanks for all the spices! Love the sofas, and you had throws. The furnishing was amazing. The beach was so nice. I would definitely recommend highly and come back again."

"We chose to have a very quiet Xmas this year. Staying for 4 nights at Heron’s Rest was peaceful calm and serene. The surroundings and scenery are beautiful with the dam taking centre stage with lotus flowers bobbing and blooming. A glass of wine on the pontoon and watching our dog get control of her ‘Pontoon legs’ was very entertaining! We had everything we needed in the accommodation. The skyscraper loaf of bread was sublime. We would definitely return. Thanks again to our hosts."
