“My favorite in Madison”

If you are looking for a resort hotel this is not the one for your vacation. If you are in Madison on business or just driving through and want a reasonably priced, clean place to stay with a good free breakfast and clean pool then this is the place to stay. Very convenient to the main highways leading from Madison, yet an easy drive to downtown and the University.

“East Towne area”

My roommate claims this hotel had the best and largest continental breakfast in any hotel he's been at in this price range, very quiet, very clean. Will go back next trip.

“Will Stay Again”

We had reserved a non-smoking room. check in went very smooth however we would not enter our room due to someone had obviously smoked in there. Went right back to the lobby with our problem and they immediately gave us another room with an upgrade to a King Suite with Jacuzzi. We were only expecting a different room so the upgrade was a great surprise. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was also more than we had expected. Fresh scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage, waffles along with the more common continental items. Conviently located across from mulitple shopping and eating venues. It was very easy to get to. Will definately stay here again when we are in the area.

“No hot water”

I was only able to get tepid water, not suitable for a bath or shower. I complained to staff twice but got no response.

“Spacious rooms in suburban Madison”

We spent two nights at this hotel over a weekend, and everything was in good shape. The room was especially nice--in addition to two queen-size beds, it had a partial dividing wall and then a small nook with a sofa. This made the room seem more like a multi-room suite. The breakfast was complete with eggs and sausage, along with the usual items. Unlike many hotels, this had numerous breakfast tables which sufficed for the number of guests eating at one time. The one drawback was this hotel was far from Madison and slightly confusing to find at night. Overall, it was a very good value.

Area recommendations

State Street in downtown Madison. It has so many eclectic restaurants. Looking for exotic food that included vegan options, we checked several south Asian places and finally settled on a nice Afghan restaurant about eight blocks from the capitol. There are alot of good ice cream parlours, shops, bars, and other establishments too.

“Convenient and good value”

The hotel is right off the interstate, close to lots of retail and restaurants, and east to get downtown (right down E. Washington). The free wireless was great, and the beer/wine/liquor sales (within the 9:00 PM State regulations) from the small store behind th front desk was great. Where else can yo get a local microbrew for $2 a bottle (and domestics for $1). My only suggestion for improvement would be to perhaps vary the hot breakfast selection. By the third day, the scrambled eggs, waffles, potatoes and sausage, though good, got a bit repetitive.

Area recommendations

State Street/Capitol area was worth spending some time in teh evenings.
