Great rooms in this great hotel, just a short walk from the centre of town. Worthy of note are the great outdoor pools with a chance, on the lower pool, to swim in the sea!

Well situated, a short downhill walk from Funchal, 10 minutes away from main shopping centre. Plethora of excellent restaurants within 5 minute walk from the hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast, efficient lifts, excellent choice of swimmimg pools, unobtrusive daily cleaning staff and very welcoming 'front of hotel' staff. Would not hesitate to return to this hotel

“hotel pestana carlton”

we stayed in the presidential suite which was spacious and well appointed. The sea view from our rooftop jacuzzi was exceptional.

We enjoyed 4 nights at this hotel in 2 rooms. Both with sea view balconies. The hotel and staff were as expected. Pools and gardens well looked after and attractive.

All staff were excellent. The service is second to none. It is not the first time I stay at the Carlton and definately not the last..

“Our stay at the Pestana Carlton Madeira Hotel”

We had a great time the your hotel. And the staff were all very helpful and friendly. I was impressed with the bottle of champayne I received for my birthday. Well done. The view was fantastic and our room was very well presented and kept clean and tidy at all time. The only downside was we found the bed uncomfortable to sleep in, it was too soft which gave us hip and backache, I had to sleep on the sofa, which was suitably firm for my body. I am not sure if we could have asked for a firmer mattress. Other than that we really liked the hotel, we hope to stay there again (and hope that we could be provided with firmer mattress) and we would recommed the hotel to our friends also. We were charged a ridiculous amount of money for some local phone calls. The breakfast buffet was ample but was the same every day.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Pestana Carlton Hotel. We received a warm welcome, constant thoughtful and friendly service and the location was just wonderful for our first visit to Madeira. The food was of the highest quality and our room with a sea view provided a beautiful vista to look at any time of the day.
