"The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again! "

"This was a fantastic find for an overnight stay on our way to Glasgow, wish we could have stayed longer and explored the lake and surrounding areas. The bar and restaurant were very good and the couple who were managing the pub at the time of our stay were excellent hosts. There is plenty of parking and this very old pub has very modern rooms. Would defiantly recommend and stay again. "

There was plenty of room in the bedroom for the travel cot we brought with us, and they provided a high chair on arrival. The apartment was also dog friendly so our little pooch was able enjoy the trip with us (at a cost of £25 per night). Rayrigg is perfectly located, with a bus every 20 mins to take you to the railway station (about a 10 minute walk) or to other towns in the District. Just note, if you are challenged by directions, Lake Windermere is in an area called Bowness, and about a 45 minute walk to Ellerthwaite Square. I had the top room, so plenty of stairs to climb,...
