Loved the property, super gorgeous. Lobby smelled nice, the room smelled a little old but I felt like that was to be expected from such an old place! The attitude of the staff could definitely be worked on.

Not a fan of old hotels. Rooms were small and did not get the room serviced after requesting it at the front desk. And homeless inside the facility and no bell desk service. Valet didn't even offer to load the luggages in the car. Better off staying at Marriot or Loews. Way overpriced for the room quality and service

This property was so unique. We loved the look and feel, the staff were AMAZING and the location was very convenient for enjoying the area. The speak easy was an added gem. Highly recommend!

The AC unit broke and sounded like a tornado siren going off in the king corner suite for about an hour, when the maintenance guy showed up he said they were having problems with it before we checked in he temporarily fixed the problem and said he would talk to the front desk about getting something back for the room but they did not want to comp anything for our troubles overall we were not happy with the stay recommend you stay somewhere else

Wrong room when we checked in. They claimed it was Expedia’s fault for misrepresenting the room. I don’t think so. They did give us a better room after the first night. Just ok hotel given the expense of the room. Would not stay there again.

This was a very nice hotel! Reminded us of the 20’s and 30’s, and the speakeasy is a MUST DO! Just be sure to make reservations. So much fun!

No microwave or fridge in rooms. Elevator took forever to open. Congested in area when you check in. No room for the lounge for us either night. Elevators very small barely able to fit with my back pack, bag and my 2 kids and luggage

Staff was welcoming. Valet service was swift. City view was nice. Accessibility to city was convenient. Speakeasy was a vibe. Decor was appealing and elegant. Bed was comfy.

The hotel itself was lovely. But we paid for the Le Petit Chef experience last night and visited the Taveronna for brunch this morning. Both had cold inedible food. Service at Taveronna was awful, giving my finacee runny scrambled eggs cold biscuits and gravy. Myself got the French toast also cold. The Le Petit experience was no better. A couple left our table after the 3rd course. The seafood course was cold. The steak portion well done and dry. The crème brûlée cold and runny. And we had to pay BEFORE we ate. Then they serve abysmal drinks from a rinky dinky bar set up in what looks like a storage facility with some tables slapped in. I would love to come back to the hotel but the food was awful and the staffing in those food environments very unprofessional.

Two of three small elevators were down Long lines to access floor and room. Three of four mornings the lobby coffee was empty. Ive had wonderful Curio Collection experiences but not this in KC.

It would have been nice to have longer bar hours. We were in KC for the Big 12 basketball tournament and had to celebrate elsewhere.

Loved staying here!! Perfect KC hotel. Only thing was the valet parking was nice but getting your car back took a while on a busy checkout morning.

All the staff were friendly and helpful-from the front desk to the valet service to the restaurant servers. Wish I had everyone’s name!! Not a single bad experience. Not even a blah one. I can’t wait to see what the hotel looks like after all the renovations are completed. Would definitely stay here again!!

I picked our hotel, one it had a claw bath tub and two it was close to our event. I really did not want to spend that much on a room but the location and tub helped a lot. Really looked forward to a relaxing weekend. Only to find the tub not usable due to it being dirty also really bad leaks. The outlets did not work. The lamp did not work. Water damage on walls and ceiling. For the amount of money I paid I was not thrilled. Ended up staying at another hotel the next day.

Great Hotel, Great Sevice, Needs a little work
The hotel was nice, along with the room and service, but my door wouldn't close all the way unless I pulled on it hard. I mentioned this to the desk

For being a higher dollar hotel downtown, there was No parking. Had to pay 18 dollars a day to park in a trashy parking garage behind the hotel. No microwave, no fridge, very small ice machine on the floor with zero vending but water bottles in the room they charge for. Rooms are small, bathrooms and showers are even smaller. Not much for hot water. No amenities to match the price.

Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered while you were our guest. We truly want every guest's experience to be a perfect stay in every way possible Hotel Phillips does have valet for our hotel guests. The public parking garage is run by a 3rd party. I will however speak to them about the trash. For the next time you're with us, please let us know at the front desk you would like a microwave and fridge. We would be happy to bring them up for you. I will be sure to add notes to share where our vending machine is, so all guests are aware. Unfortunately, this historical building does not leave much room to expand the rooms. They are twice the size of when they were in 1931. Hopefully, we'll have the opportunity to welcome you back to Hotel Phillips when your travels bring you back to Kansas.
