“Beautiful Hotel with excellent service!”
The staff at this hotel was great. My room was very nice as well and the lobby and business center area were also very nice. Great gym as well. Only disappointment was the pool was under construction.
“Location, Location, Location!”
The hotel was great; the location was excellent! Staff members were responsive when needed. Buffet breakfast was very ample, even for the most hearty of appetites. The only slight disappointment we experienced was with the indoor pool. My pre-teen son loves to swim, but found the 1-meter deep pool too shallow for his tastes. That might be why I never saw any other guests in the pool during our entire visit (6 days). Also, watch carefully the check-in/out times. Our flight did not depart until 7pm, but we had to check out at noon; asked for a late checkout, but hotel was fully booked. However, due to location, we were able to hang out at the adjoining malls and do some last minute shopping and catch a movie.
“Good place to stay”
Well located, well run and exactly what you expect from an international business hotel. Great service from everyone including room service, reception and chauffeurs. Don't hesitate to book.
“Top notch hotel, probably best in SA.”
Excellent and very comfortable hotel. All facilities top notch. Location accessible to huge mall complex so other dining options. Only recommendation is that internet access should be completely free in such a business-oriented hotel (you get a complimentary voucher varied according to your length of stay but once that expires, you need to buy somemore time).
“Excellent and high quality staying in Johannesburg”
Very friendly, cozy and excellent food and services as 5 star hotel
“Michaelangelo”
We had a great stay. The only negative was the A/C did not function the first night. We were moved the next day.
“Great hotel; Great location; but too expensive”
The hotel was great. It was the most I ever spent on a hotel, but definitely not the best hotel I ever stayed at -- so i feel it was priced way too high. But I suppose you are paying for the convenience of being so close to the excitement of the square and great shopping areas.
“Absolutely magnificient hotel, in the heart of Nelson Mandela Square!!”
The Michelangelo Hotel is a crown jewel in the lively South African city of Johannerburg. I recommend if highly.
“Was a Wonderful Experience -- Luxury After a Safari!!!”
This hotel is rated in the World's Leading Hotels list and rightly so! It is a magnificent, beautiful and comfortable hotel smack in the middle of Sandton City, the new Johannesburg, South Africa. The physical beauty was just overwhelming, and my room overlooked Nelson Mandela Square with its lovely outdoor cafes and large, inviting patio. With regard to the service I couldn't have asked for more...having just come off a great safari and feeling a bit grubby, walking into this room with all the amenities and comforts was like a respite from heaven before continuing on with the journey...breakfast was included and it offered such variety and the staff was so courteous and welcoming that I'm beginning to sound like an ad for the place...or an employee! It is directly adjacent to the Sandton Mall, so you can spend an entire day there shopping until you drop and then enjoying all the nearby restaurants without having to venture far away in an area that is known for not being as safe as it could be. I would recommend the Michelangelo to everyone!!!
“Excellent Hotel in great location”
Having been to Johannesburg twice before we were wary of where to stay, the Michelangelo Hotel fitted the bill perfectly. Hard to fault the hotel, room excellent as were all the staff, good location on Mandela Sq so no problem with restaurants. Would certainly recommend.
