“Great hotel”
I was really impressed with the Nena Hotel, the location was fabulous and the staff are fantastic, I can say I have been never been treated better anywhere. The breakfast was buffet with a variety of fruit, cereals and yoghurt, jams, jellies, scrambled eggs etc. It was nice to be able to eat outside looking at the fantastic view in the morning with fresh juice and good coffee. The evening was just as beautiful and the 'sea bass' was excellent. The only improvement I can think of would be a kettle with coffee and tea available in the room. The staff were happy to make you a cup of tea after being out all day but I like to be able to have 2nd's in my room after a shower and in my jammies.The only frustration I had was being unable to access my yahoo e-mail as they have free internet available at least I was only able to catch up on Canadian News.
“Hotel Nena (NOV09)”
We arrived at the airport at 3am in the morning. Its always worth paying for the approx 25 Euro to get an hotel taxi to pick you up as the smaller roads can be confusing to make the trip yourself. We were greeted at the reception with professionalism expected at the top end of the hospitality. Everyone spoke fluent english, a porter helped us to our room - room included en suite shower room with a hairdryer! cupboard, drawers, TV (channel 1, 2 & 33 are english) and mini bar (please check the prices before consuming). Breakfast is from 7.30-10.30 am every morning. With a full continental english style breakfast. The view from the hotel rooms are not that brilliant as they overlook the side road but traffic noise is not a problem here. The view from the restaurant is one of the highlights of the hotel. With everything in near walking distance we find ourselves glaring at the view for the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sofia (the main attractions here in Istanbul) every morning. Around the hotel 2 mins away is your international brands Starbucks / McDonalds a cashpoint and many places to eat and drink all day. With few shops selling ornaments, Jewelry and other tourist related pieces inc calligraphy. the famous Grand Bazaar is within 10min walking distance. The tram system which takes you all around the main parts of Istanbul also takes you to the other side of the sea is near the hotel. With a fare of one and half TL per person (token is collected from a nearby booth).
“Wonderful place to stay”
great location, incredible service - we have never been so well looked after. and the views from the balcony at breakfast were quite amazing. would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. got great tips from staff on where to eat locally etc. we really enjoyed our stay.
“Well worth a visit!”
A comfortable, small and friendly hotel situated in the cultural centre of cosmopolitan Istanbul. Very friendly staff and an excellent buffet breakfast.........well worth a visit!
“Wonderful choice”
Great location (just off main tram line) and lots of character to this lovely hotel ... delicious Turkish breakfasts with Old Istanbul views. Will definitely stay there again.
“A gem in a dazzling City”
The pictures don't lie - the view is truly stunning from the rooftop breakfast room/terrace. We really enjoyed our stay at this friendly hotel. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom. The breakfast choice was excellent. Very helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble.
“Very friendly and clean hotel in Sultanahmet”
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nena. The staff was very friendly and courteous, they were extremely helpful and accomodating. The rooms were slightly smaller but very neat and tidy. The roof top restaurant had a great view of the Blue mosque and the Haga Sophia. We would definitely recomment Hotel Nena to our friends.
“An ideal base to explore and view Istanbul”
The Hotel Nena was an excellent base for us to explore and view Istanbul. Five minutes walk to many of the key sites; Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Hadjia Sophia, Topkapi, Archealogical Museum. Tram line two minutes walk. magnificent views from restaurant on roof and superb welcome and service from friendly staff. Breakfast set us up for a busy day. Dinner on the terrace was excellent with stunning views of the Bosporus and the Asian side.
“Very good option”
The Nena Hotel was just what i need: right in the center (two minutes from the Blue Mosque) cheap and with very good service. The breakfast in the terrace is just amazing.
