Peaceful!
This was my second visit! My two cats and I stayed here. We spent our time outside doing a lot of reading and making art. The cabin was super peaceful, and clean! I also took the time to go explore the local towns, and enjoyed hikes. Overall it was a great time!

What a lovely way to usher in the New Year. Dinorah provided a clean and cozy home away from home on a gorgeous mountain top overlooking a hillside and cow pasture. What more could we ask for. It’s a hidden gem! Thank you!!

Secluded
I loved that the cabin was secluded, in the woods, no Wi-Fi, and cell service was spotty. Sometimes you just need to get away from entertainment and electronics. The house was an old style house with paneling but still had a few updates. Would have been nice to have had a wood stove where it looks like one used to be instead of a gas wall heater but the baseboard heat did fine. The only problem I had was the upstairs heat didn’t work and my girls got a little chilly. The owner was quick to have someone come check it out but was unable to fix. The place had all we needed in the kitchen along with towels and toiletries. The view at the bottom of the drive over the Christmas tree field was gorgeous along with the white tail deer eating in the field. We had a pleasant stay.

Cabin getaway
We rented this beautiful cabin getaway for to stay while I visited for my high school reunion. Best choice we could have ever made! We had a great time watching the wildlife that came onto the property, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We will definitely be visiting again!

Great place to relax!
Great cabin for some peace and quiet. Close to Grayson Highlands State Park and the New River Trail. The cabin was very clean and well kept. Was awesome sitting on deck and hearing a screech owl at night! And in the morning the cows down below. Lots of deer and even spotted some turkeys. Very private and it was just what the pups and I needed!

First of all, I did not get a combination for the keypad, so I had to drive 6 miles back out the little road to get to Internet to text property owner. Finally 30 to 40 minutes later I got a text with the combo. I go back to the property another 6 miles up the little road, but it does not work. By this time my family members had came. No one could get it to work. We went back out to get Internet service. I text did everything I could possibly do to get answers, never have got an answer. So was not very happy with getting into cabin at all.

VRBO just reviewed the web site Welcome Guide with me as I wanted to address your issues. On the VRBO Web site once you submit payment and it has been accepted 7 days before guest stay they receive a Welcome guide with code and information.. If reservation happens within the 7 days guest will receive Welcome Guide within a few hours.. VRBO associate and I both checked the Web site and it is there under your name. it is called access instructions. This is remote location and I am very sorry that you had to drive several times to get service. Phone service up there depends on your carrier. I can only apologize for me that I did not see your text sooner, probably was taking care of my Dad at the moment. I'm also very sorry door lock didnt work for you but glad that it did finally work. It is only a couple months old. Once you got in I hope you liked the improvements that we have done this last year.

Perfect hilltop cabin
Although I had minimal contact with the host, everything went smoothly and the cabin exceeded my expectations. This is back in the hills! Directions were clear, though my GPS held out all the way. I wanted for no amenities, and the temperature was perfect. I would recommend walking back down the drive where you'll find a sweeping view of the valley and the hills beyond, and likely see deer and turkey. This vista was especially fantastic a night with mist in the valley, fireflies rising like embers, heat lightning playing on the distant mountaintops, and a sky full of stars. Already eyeing October!

The Loveliest of Retreats
We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was easy to get to and in the perfect location, between Grayson Highlands State Park and the Channels. We had an amazing time celebrating an anniversary, and would love to come back! The amenities and space were great, as was the host. We made memories here that we will carry with us for a lifetime.

Spring Break family getaway
We completely enjoyed the cabin and how quiet it was compared to the noise pollution we live in. The weather was perfect to enjoy outside activities, grilling and eating on the deck. The cabin was well equipped with just about everything you need, especially the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable too! We unfortunately didn't get the snack basket but we would love to return again.

Perfect modest cabin for friends and dogs
This cabin was everything I was hoping for in a low-fi, wooded getaway spot. It was spotless and well-equipped for country life with flashlights/lanterns, fire extinguishers, and fire blankets set out around the cabin. There was also a first aid kit on top of the fridge, making safety features you might need in a remote location easily accessible. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The views were incredible and having two decks made it feel luxurious. Our dogs loved it and we were glad it was mostly dry so we didn't need to dig into the dog towels in the downstairs bathroom (another great amenity!). Highly recommend to anyone else looking for an escape with no internet and only the faintest cell reception in certain locations. Dinorah was very communicative and helpful as well, making the whole experience great.

Very remote scenic get a way
The house was very well fitted, with an equipped kitchen (and coffee maker!) for cooking, a lovely and large master bedroom, nice living room and balconies to hang out on. It was only my girlfriend and I, but you could easily sleep another ~3-4 people if you didn't mind sharing the space. Extremely private, no view of the neighbors once you're on the property. Plus it's close to a bunch of good state parks. Perfect for an isolated nature getaway

God's country
This place is absolutely gorgeous. Even though there was no internet or cable TV I very much enjoyed my stay. It was my husband, father in law and mother in law and myself that stayed here. If I were younger I would have went hiking around the property. So much nature to see here! Young children definitely would have alot of fun outside exploring. And the hostess answers everytime you send a message. Thank you for being very attentive Dinorah. I am greatful I got to see family I haven't seen in 20 years! May God bless you and your family! We will be back!

Great place to relax, beautiful setting with plenty of trees to place a hammock. Hiking trails within walking distance of the property. Very clean. Went hiking to Grayson Highlands State Park, saw the wild ponies and the longhorns. Plenty of water actitivities close by. I will definitely return.

A nice out of the way place
We really enjoyed out stay; the cabin is 20 min from Galax and provided a nice quiet (except for all of the lawnmowers--it seemed like everyone was mowing their lawns the two days we were there) place. We enjoyed sitting on the outside porch in the evenings; the weather and environment were perfect.

Cabin in Providence/Fries/ on independence Ridge.
Our stay in the cabin was great and exactly what were needing in a quiet getaway. When we arrived the cabin was clean and inviting. There are also hiking trails on the property that can be explored.. its steep, so you will get plenty of exercise. It is also located in a great location so you don't have far to go to enjoy many of the local activities, boating, fishing, rafting, etc. The folks at New River Outdoor Adventures have multiple float options if you want to explore the New River. There are some great restaurants in nearby Galax, Macados and Creek Bottom Brewery were our favorites, but also there were a few that we did not get a chance to try that have a great reputation. The Valley diner has a great breakfast for starting off your day if you want to go out to eat while you are there before heading out on your activity of the day. The host Dinorah does a great job in accommodating her guests. We couldn't have asked for better and more relaxing time. Thank You again for everything Dinorah!! We will be back!!

Very cozy cabin!
This cabin is on top of a beautiful forested hill. We had an awesome time, and our dogs got to run around freely across the property. Everything about the cabin is very comfy and cozy. It's very secluded, peaceful, and quiet. We will probably come back again!

Lovely spot!
The cabin was a great get away for us to enjoy. My kids are a bit older so it was great - I’d be cautious of younger kids with the very steep steps. The layout was great for us; the kids took over the loft as their play space and we were able to relax and Play family games in the main living area. Had all the necessities and was relaxing for everyone. Only thing we wished for was for the grate to fit the fire pit so we could have cooked on it!

We stayed for christmas 2020 and had a great time woke up to a white christmas. The cabin was beautiful and cozy the view was christmas tree farms below the cabin a big plus for a holiday stay. The cabin was fully stocked and very clean i cant wait to go back..

We enjoyed staying here. It is very clean and also very remote, but that didn't bother us. GPS is iffy -- when it worked, we had no problems locating the cabin. I suggest that you carry a map with you just in case.

Woodland Escape!
Communication with owner was great. Upon arrival, it was as easy as punching in the code to the door or enter. The cabin is secluded and it is a bit of a drive to get to any 'town'. That being said, it was a perfect family getaway that allowed us to spend quality time together. We went on some awesome hikes. I highly recommend Grayson Highlands State Park! We also drove over to Floyd, which is another must do/see while in the area. Awesome farmers market and great little town to explore. The cabin was stocked with everything you need, plus some nice extras like the bathroom toiletries and unexpected comfortably bed and pillows!!! We had a lovely trip and great experience. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing and or outdoor adventure stay.

Perfect Place to Decompress and Recharge
I work for a trial attorney and was able to get a few days off before we hit multiple weeks of back to back trials. This place was just what my doctor would have ordered. No internet, no cable, and no satellite. There were lots of DVDs but I brought my own also. Spent the cool mornings working on a needlepoint project and the afternoons reading on the back deck with music in the background. I took up about 40 CDs as the radio has a CD player. My dog loved napping on the deck in the dappled sunlight while listening to lots of birds. Saw 2 deer and 2 Red Tail Hawks plus Blue Jays and squirrels. Heard cows mooing and roosters crowing when the wind was right. The kitchen is well equipped right down to a small waffle iron. The bed was really comfortable. Loved this place. Dinorah is the perfect owner and fast to respond to any questions. The caretaker, Tabitha, is very sweet.

Home away from home!
This was our second trip to this amazing cabin and it was just as wonderful as our first. The privacy and seclusion allows us to get away from the world and reconnect with each other and to nature. We can’t wait until we can go back and soak in more of that beautiful mountain scenery and clean air.

Nice but needs updating
Love the quiet. It was nice to unplug. However, it really should be updated with step in shower or at least more grab bars, elevated toilets, a rail where the steps go from the kitchen to the living room would also be helpful for someone with disabilities. Information for things to do around the area would also be helpful since you can't look for anything on electronic devices. Note on the fridge stated that we were to have a welcome basket with snacks, there wasn't one of those. Also, update your driveway photo on the VRBO sight, it's gravel and not grass, we were really worried about not being able to get up the steep incline. We loved the area, the quiet and sleeping with the windows open to feel the cool night air. Waking up to birds chirping and cows in the distant. Was a nice change. Thank you for opening up your home. We loved it!
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. It was nice to be away from all the distractions. Yes, there is no wi-fi, television, and the cell signal was very poor when we even had a signal but that was what we were looking forward to. The cabin was great for the three of us and my dog, we had plenty of space. The timing was perfect so the temperature was perfect and it was just cool enough. We really talked about returning for another stay!

A Little Slice of Heaven
We arrived at 11:30 pm Friday April 9th 2021, we made sure to bring flashlights and had all the info from Dinorah on how to get up to the cabin.. however our GPS didn't lose service and took us up to the cabin without any issues at all .. We never had to use a flashlight.. When we walked in, my first words spoke were "oh wow this is beautiful!! .. We were worried about rain because looking at the weather from when we booked til actually traveling it had changed to raining but it didn't rain til Saturday Evening.. We went to Wytheville to meet for horseback riding at Hussy Mtn Horse Camp .. we had never been horseback riding and it was so awesome !! And the views were amazing as we horseback rode up a mountain and back down !! Absolutely Beautiful!! The cabin had everything we needed and more !! Beds were comfortable.. and my kids had a wonderful time! Can't wait to come back and stay again.. Hopefully in the near future!! Thank you so much for sharing your Cabin with us.. and Communicating so well with me when I contacted you !! Couldn't of asked for a better weekend!!
