“would definitely stay there next trip to Munich”
I would definitely stay here again on next trip to Munich and recommend hotel to families w/children in addition to above written comments
“Great Munich Airport Area Rural Hotel”
Fabulous little hotel run by a warm and friendly family. Nice restaurant, free high-speed (wired) Internet, comfortable rooms. Great little getaway from the busy urban environment, and perfect for a little R&R while traveling.
“a nice place to stay”
went for just 2 nights on a business trip but was made very welcome by the couple that run it. I have zero Germany language skills but they spoke good English (lucky for me!). On Mondays and Tuesdays, when I stayed they have a reduced evening menu but was very nice. Free internet connection in the rooms (via wire) so was able to keep upto date with work and skype the family etc. I would certainly reccomend for business users and holidays too.
“Remote even for Texans, but well worth it!”
We arrived tired from driving....what a wonderful relaxing feeling you get from this hotel. It was not only clean but extremely quiet. The construction of this hotel is so well done that there is no nosie. The hotel has more of an "INN" feeling than that of a hotel. The country side is calm and yet a short drive into Munich, and being on the North side of Munich, at this time, you avoid a lot of the road work being done south of Munich. The dining here was great...the morning breakfast buffet is complete and fresh. The coffe, a must for my wife, was served hot and very good. Anyone who stays here will enjoy their time, we only wish we had a few more days to spend in this hotel....but there will always be a next time.
“German countryside and hospitality at its best”
Owners Christina and Johansson were fabulous, friendly, and helpful. Period. Christina speaks English extremely well and Johansson, fairly good. At first when we took the taxi to the hotel from the train stop, we thought we were being taken for a "ride" for our money. It is located just outside of the township along farm roads. After a fantastic supper and a good night's sleep (breakfast was inexpensive and delicious continental style), our anxiety was relieved. Fresh air and flowery gardens. If you are without a car: The Information Desk at Munich Hoptbahnhof (train station) told us to take the train to Freising - don't do that!! You'll have to take a 30 minute cab ride to the hotel. Instead, take the train to Petershausen on the S2. The cab ride is only 6 minutes to the hotel from there. You may have to wait for a cab - the phone number is clearly posted in front of the Bahnhof. While waiting for a cab (or call the hotel for help), you can explore Petershausen - a very typical Bayrisch town. All of our meals were prepared by the family, but mostly by Johansson. He is a great cook. When chantrelles (Pfifferlingen) are in season as in the fall, order everything on the menu that has them! he also grills a mean beef steak - and my wife is picky about that. We will stay there again, I guarantee.
“Nice Country Hotel Outside Munich”
We had been in a Munich hotel for the Thurday and Friday before Oktoberfest. But on Saturday, the day Oktoberfest opened, the room rate at that hotel more than TRIPLED! So I searched and found this lovely, affordable hotel in Hohenkammer. What a beautiful small farming town. And talk about convenience- only 5 minutes away from the hotel is the Peterhausen train stop which goes to anywhere you want to go in Munich. So we went to Oktoberfest, had a blast, and stayed in a reasonably priced hotel. Also, they have a great restaurant here. Loads of locals dining there on a Saturday night. So you know it's good. The owners could not have been nicer.
“I am looking forward to another visit at the hotel.”
This hotel was a perfect start to our 3 day holiday over the Octoberfest festival. We entered the Restaurant and the warm welcome of the friendly staff was perfect, the aroma of the homemade freshly made cakes hits you as you walk in and after the journey from Wales to Munich we wanted a chilled local beer and that is what we had. It was a great start to a great few days, 1 day at the festival (Octoberfest), 2nd day at the English Gardens to see how the locals celebrate Octoberfest, over to the Hoffbrauhaus for a litre of beer and local cusine. The best food had to come down to Hotel Waldhof, they cooked the best steaks for us, and also a great traditional pork dish the next night, they were faultless. Great owners, great staff, comfortable and very clean rooms. We look forward to our next visit.
“Nice place to stay near Munich”
I don't normally bother doing reviews but this hotel was a real gem. very friendly and helpful. Probably not ideal if you want to see the sites of Munich but I managed okay on the weekend of the Champions League final. When the local taxi driver was in hiding the morning after they managed to find someone else to get me back to the local train station.
“out in the country”
very away from almost everything but only about 20 minutes from Munich airport. Family owned and run very clean and reasonable. pillows are not very comfortable but rooms are clean and a little small but that is standard for Germany. Owners don't speak fluent English but are very nice and accommodating Food was very good but no English on the menu. I will go there again when I am in the Munich area. Nice people Nice hotel Good food and beer.
