“beautiful place in Hiroshima”
This hotel was lovely, with a dreamy view out over the harbor of Hiroshima and the nearby islands. We arrived after a day of visiting the A-bomb museum and related memorials in Hiroshima; otherwise it might have been a bit inconvenient as it was a 40 minute ride into the city center. It was very convenient for one of the ferries to Miyajima (a great visit) although you can also take a ferry from the Hiroshima port. Hotel restaurants were overpriced and mediocre. We signed up for some kind of club for minimal cost that included breakfast (very good) and a bunch of free drinks, as well as free bathing in the on-site onsen (hot spring bath).
“"Not impressed" but perfect location to visit Myajima Islands”
Does the job but nothing more. The hotel shows it dates from the great era of Japan, today it shows its years. But has a private deck for Myajima island and that was the point.
“Fantastic View”
The hotel is out of town and well away from the main things to see and places to eat in Hiroshima. However, the staff give you a bus time table, and a map of the bus stops in the center of town, so it is easy to navigate, just takes about 25 mins each way. Taxis are easily available and much quicker, but cost 10x the price of the bus. The hotel is set on a peninsula and has amazing views of the Seto Inland Sea, even with the bus ride into town, it was nice to be out looking at the sea for a few nights on our city heavy trip. A fast ferry goes to Miyajima Island right from the hotel dock, and that is certainly worth a day trip. The staff at the hotel try hard, they speak less English than in Tokyo, but the concierge was very good and helpful. The public areas look a little dated and the rooms are on the smaller side, but everywhere was spotlessly clean. The huge picture window with the sea and islands made it totally worthwhile. And the hotel laundry was very cheap compared to other hotels, so a good place to get some clothes cleaned if you are on a longer trip.
“Beautiful View”
We knew going in that the hotel was a distance from the usual sights in Hiroshima. I booked it for the view and proximity to Miyajima Island. Upon arrival, we took a cab to the hotel (about $20) so we didn't have to wrestle with luggage on the bus. We were given a family suite that had mostly a view of the docks; when I called and asked if a change was possible, they immediately moved us to another suite with a full view of the inland sea and islands. Even the tub and shower had the view. Waking up in the morning with that view from the full wall of windows was beautiful and incredible! We especially liked the helpfulness of the concierge, who gave us maps and directions to restaurants and a coin laundry near the hotel. We also liked the fast boat to Miyajima ... a bit pricey, but worth the convenience and ease of getting to the island. All of the amenities in the room were a nice touch. There is a bus from town that took about 30 minutes, and was easy to navigate. On our last day, we took a cab back to Hiroshima station, where we stowed our luggage in the ample-sized coin lockers, and toured the in-town sights. We loved the Grand Prince!
“Really far out of town”
Great service by the perfect english speaking concierge, the rest of the staff is not so proficient. Location is approx. 30mins or ( 30 $) away from the railway station. This is primarily a hotel for big wedding ceremonies. Rooms are very small, even on executive floor. Restaurants in the hotel are very pricey and you do not have an outside choice Hotel location is not good for sightseeing.
“Too far out in the sticks!”
For the price, not worth it unless you want seclusion and on a honeymoon.
“Nice beach hotel in Hiroshima”
A little out of the way,. A good idea if you're going to stay in Hiroshima for a few dyas. The restaurants are way too expensive for the quality, but the rooms (especially corner rooms with double ocean view) ) are great, the onsen /sauna is pretty good, and the convenience of having a dock right outside the hotel is unbeatable
