“One of the best located hotels we have stayed in.”

“Wonderful location!”

“Great hotel for its class in a prime location for a Japanese traveler.”

SERVICE: I felt I was treated well. I arrived at 12 pm and was informed check-in was not until 1 pm. In Asia you learn not to argue with the people at the service desk since they are not trained to handle anything beyond what they are told to do. If I had children with me, I might I have pushed them to let me check in early. They did register me and assign me a room. I left my luggage with the hotel and returned at 4 pm after doing some site-seeing. I then received my key and found my luggage had already been placed in my room. That wast very convenient. LOCATION: The hotel is right outside the Hiroshima train station. There is not much to do in this area, but it allows you to get anywhere you need to. Also, there are a ton of good restaurant choices within the train station. This is the perfect location for someone just passing through Hiroshima for a day or two. QUALITY: This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but 2-3 star I would say. Previous reviews of the hallways smelling musty or like B.O. are accurate. However, the rooms are clean appearing and clean smelling. My non-smoking room did not smell of any cigarette smoke, as many non-smoking rooms in Asia can. The room is small by western standards, but pretty standard for Japan. The bathroom was clean and the toilet had a built in bidet as many hotels in Japan have. The bed was comfortable but came with only one memory foam type pillow. If I ever go back to Hiroshima, this is where I would choose to stay.

“Convenient location in Hiroshima”

This hotel is attached to the Hiroshima train station and is extremely convenient if traveling to the city by train. A tram station is also nearby making sightseeing easy. The hotel was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and eager to assist. I would recommend this hotel when visiting Hiroshima.

“Hotel Granvia Hiroshima - Exceptional”

We chose Hotel Granvia Hiroshima for its location at the JR Station and its connection to HIJ via bus transfer. The hotel decor and amenities exceeded our expectations.

Area recommendations

In town, don't miss the Peace Park, Prefecture Art Museum, and Archives Museum. Take a day trip to Miyajima for the quintessential Japan experience.

“Good hotel, good location”

Rooms were nice and neat, hallways were kind of smelly at times. Better hotel than the one in Tokyo that we stayed at. Close to train station, bus lines, grocery store diagonal to the hotel that opened early so able to get breakfast and food items easily and cheaply. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, mostly japanese speaking, but I was able to use my limited japanese and communicate with them.

“Family Vacation”

We are a family of 4, including parents and 13 and 15 year old teenagers. This was the first of three hotels and cities that we stayed at during our vacation in Japan. It was just what we wanted and were expecting. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation to others.

Must see

Visiting the A-Bomb Dome and museum was a very educational and moving experience. It is a "must see" sight while you are in Hiroshima. I would recomend it for everyone except young children (under the age of 10). Seeing the destruction and its aftermath caused by the atomic bomb sent a clear message that mankind should never repeat using such weapons again.

“A convinenent Hotel for travel”

The location as far as being close to a train station if that is how you are traveling around Japan is great. Being right next to the train station, but it is an okay hotel. The rooms are small but clean and pleasant. Not anyway like the sisiter hotel the Kyoto Granvia.

Area recommendations

Take the ferry to Miyajima for some beautiful historical and cultural experiences. Food was good as well, with the street vendors and small restaurants.

“Conveniently located next to the Shikansen station”

If you have a Shinkansen ticket from Hiroshima very early in the morning, no other hotel can beat the convenience of being right next to the station. The hotel services are about average for any hotel in Japan of its class.

The Peace Site is a must-see for everyone Japanese & non-Japanese.

Traveller's tip

Try Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, which has Chinese noodles inside. When in season, oysters are also great.

“Good deal, nice service.”

Ask for a view of the river when you book. Modern, clean hotel and friendly staff. The pricing was good for this type of hotel. I would stay here again.
