clean rooms. Downstairs rooms do not have free to air TV only netflix stan youtube. tried to get abc iview 7now etc but apps not available.

Overall terrible. The room was clean and spacious, however the big problem was that there was no WiFi. Normally, not a problem except the TV only works through that so was unable to even watch TV. No reception open, despite being assured it would be open. I’d only stay again only if no other hotel has a vacancy.

The reception was warm and we liked the access from our room to the balcony. The simple breakfast included was appreciated. The room itself needs some care and repair. Fine for a quick overnight stop though.

This is a former pub converted to offer basic accommodation. The building remains very run-down. There is dirt, cobwebs, grime, and random debris and clutter in most public places. The carpets look like they’ve been relocated here from an industrial facility - you can’t find an unstained section anywhere. The motel appears to focus on being dog-friendly, so animals sleep in the rooms. As a result, we found hair next to everywhere in ours, including inside the fridge and all over bed cover (suggesting it wasn’t changed since the last guest). We did not eat breakfast so can’t comment on the dining room. The staff were nowhere to be seen. I wouldn’t want to show my face either, to be honest.

When looking at property, it indicated that the rooms were soundproof and that there were no pets. When I arrived, the manager told me that every room was a pet friendly room, the whole property was pet friendly. The room was also definitely not sound proof, I didn't sleep at all as there were trucks driving past all night and I heard every single one of them. I think they need to update their details on the WOTIF property page.

The room and ensuite were spotless, the bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast was great. Would highly recommend the Commercial Hay Hotel.

No hot water in what looked like a derelict building. Stained carpet in room sticky underfoot and no staff to be seen. Sagging bed, no pillow case protectors on the pillows, everywhere looks very sad and neglected, have the owners run out of money to continue the refurbishments?? Would suggest you save your money and go to the motel next door which looks stunning!

Wouldnt recommend it
The room was small and tidy.There was no bath towels or milk in the room. When we approached the staff member about the lack of towels or milk they first denied it possible, then got towels and milk from storage. The staff member was unfriendly The toilet seat was not securely mounted on the toilet and slid off sideways jarring my back. The room was not worth the money we were charged.

Bathroom nicely renovated and clean The room was large, carpet stained obviously through patrons not caring. The only unfortunate thing was the quilt cover was dirty, so I didn’t want to use the quilt. I can see that they are trying to renovate and create a nice place to stay. It’s getting there. Would I stay again? Yes, most likely., as long as the quilt cover was clean.

Hotel looks great. Until you actually go inside. Lock to room broken. No hot water. Shower head broken. What dribble of water we could get out just landed on toilet and not shower. Had to side saddle toilet to use as its right up against a wall and seat was broken. Drain also loose. No wifi as advertised. Aircon died throughout the night, started blowing cold air, which was great as it was already 5 degrees and the 1 thin blanket supplied was useless. Broken furniture left in room. The drunks on the balcony kept me company yelling, as did the cockroaches in the bed. Didn't bother to stay for the free fruit loops.

This is an old partially refurbished hotel. There are no staff on site. Checkin is self serve as is light breakfast. There was an urn for hot water but no one to turn it on. The room was spacious and clean. The carpet could be updated. I would use the hotel again for its convenience.

The bedrooms are on two floors and although the bedroom doors could be locked, access to the passageway was not restricted. The hallways were very cold as a result, although the rooms were heated.

Travelling alone, it was a reasonable price, good & clean. The breakfast was a bonus Worst bit, I could operate the TV remote, I don't have cable ot internet TV, I found something else to do.

The Manageress was very helpful when we realised our room was up stairs and we said we wouldn’t manage to carry our luggage up to our room. She then gave us the only available room on the ground floor. This room was a twin as we’d asked but very small. There was virtually no room to put our 2 cases. Whereas the bathroom was big. The beds were comfortable however. Breakfast was ok in a large eating area. Looks to be refurbished in some areas of the Motel. Overall you get what you pay for and was a good stop on our way back to Sydney

Nice property with modern and clean rooms and facilities. Could have done with a small bar fridge in the room but otherwise very comfortable. TV remote not easy to use and aircon remote control had only Chinese characters so not user-friendly. Instructions for both would have been nice. Room was small but very comfortable for a good night’s rest. Recommended.
