“good stay”
good staff, plesant stay, the dogs in the houses on the street get on your nerves at night though! travel to and from the hotel is awkward: from the centre of rome, take the metro to tiburtina then the local cotral bus (blue) towards palambara or palambrese, the bus stop is out of the station across the street to the right, mention villa maria to the driver and they should stop for you as it is hard to see where the actual stop is from a bus when you dont know where you are an theres no bus stop sign for the stop at the hotel! bus tickets were also a pain, we got a metro ticket in rome that said it covered buses as well but that was just local buses in rome itself not the cotral buses which run further out, but we didnt realise this until 5 days later an no-one else on the bus was using the ticket machines anyways. cotral tickets can be bought in tirburtina station from the newsagent kiosk or from the oasibar down the road on the right as you come to the end of the street from the hotel, to the left 5 minutes walk is a supermarket. bus timetables are displayed in hotel reception.
“Very impressed”
Very nice hotel - breakfast top class. Make sure you know how to get to hotel when you use public transport though. Enjoy your stay!
“Most Relaxing Hotel Ever Stayed In”
The Hotel is so peaceful and safe for children. They keep the doors locked and you gain access through a telecom system. I would definetly go back to that hotel. The staff go out of there way to help you. The only problem we had was working out the local bus to the hotel. Directions given say to take local bus. You need to take local blue bus to Palambaress. You can buy your run around ticket for rome from the newsagent in the staition. This allows you travel on the bus. The bus stops exactly at the bottom of the road for Villa Maria. if you ask the driver or anyone on the bus they will help you.
“great stay”
For the money you pay for this hotel you really should not complain. Keep in mind however that this hotel is far from Rome and you are more likely to enjoy your stay if you are driving to it. The staff especially Denise and Mustapha both were very helpful.
“Nice but,”
The hotel was good except that it was hot in the beddroom. The a/c didn't blow into it and there wasn't a fan. Opening a window was not an option because of the mosquitos. My kids all thought the breakfast was great. Would stay there again but will take a small clip on fan next time.
“Quiet country paradise”
I quite enjoyed the stay here, wish I had booked a few more days. The water of the swimming pool is one of the cleanest I ever seen. The bed is really comfortable and self-serviced breakfast is healthy and full of choices. Although the location is not perfect, it is value for money.
“too far from Rome for sight seeing lovely for a country holiday”
Overall the hotel was very satisfactory but unfortunatly too far to travel each day for sight seeing. The staff were very nice and very helpful
“Nice place, but difficult to get to from Rome.”
It really is a nice place. Nice rooms set up like an American roadside motel - go get your key, then walk outside to your room. Plenty of space, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, etc. Plus you get free breakfast! (you'll understand how important this is when you get to Italy) The only real problem is the location. It is so far away from the city (tourist sights - Vatican, Colosseum, etc) that you spend more time commuting (or actually figuring out how to commute) than actually seeing the sights. Granted, the hotel offers a shuttle to the closest subway station, (30 minutes) but the trip home is a nightmare. Take the subway to a stop, go above ground, and try to catch a bus (every 40 minutes) that MIGHT stop near the hotel, if you are lucky enough to notice that you are approaching it and can inform the driver. As an American traveling, my Italian was very limited (non-existent), so it was difficult to buy a train ticket, then a bus ticket, then finding the correct bus, reading the times, etc. Now that I have been through it, I can do it all again in a heartbeat, but the first time was a pain.
“Great get away”
We arrived at the B & B and it was a refreshing sight. The hotel is a bit our of Rome, but it is nice to get away from the hustle of the city and enjoy the country. The walls are thin.
